Coming up this weekend at the McAninch Arts Center (MAC) are the final performances of Buffalo Theatre Ensemble's season opener, "Stove Toucher," written and performed by BTE's own Kurt Naebig. What happens when you achieve the high-rolling lifestyle you always dreamed of…at 13 years old? A little bit “Doogie Howser,” a little bit “Basketball Diaries,” “Stove Toucher” is a high-adrenaline, hilarious, heartfelt recounting about getting everything you ever wanted – and then watching it fall apart. Performances Thursday-Saturday at 8 p.m.; Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets are $42. For tickets and more info, visit AtTheMAC.org or call 630-942-4000.

Salt Creek Ballet’s “The Nutcracker,” under the direction of Artistic Director Erica De La O comes to the McAninch Arts Center (MAC) at 2 and 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 18; and 1 and 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 19. This production is based on the classic story by Prussian author E.T.A Hoffman and staged and choreographed after Dace Dindonis and George Verdak. Once again, New Philharmonic, under the baton of Maestro Kirk Muspratt, will perform Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s classic “Nutcracker” score live for this full-scale, lavish production. Theater tickets for the MAC engagement are sold out but tickets are available to see the performance via live stream at 1 p.m. on Dec. 18, then on demand Dec. 19-25. Streaming tickets are $46 per household. A streaming ticket offers one-time access for the household to view either the live performance at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 18; or On Demand between 8 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 19 and 11:59 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 25. For tickets or more info visit AtTheMAC.org or call 630-942-4000.
