Wheaton Coronavirus Update: 28 New Cases In Past Week

As of press time, there have been 787 confirmed coronavirus cases in Wheaton, according to DuPage County Health Department.

WHEATON, IL — The number of coronavirus cases in Wheaton has increased by 4 percent, with 28 new cases in the past week, according to information from the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD).

As of Sept. 30, there had been 759 cases reported in Wheaton. The total number of cases reported in Wheaton as of Oct. 7 was 787.

In nearby Glen Ellyn, the number of coronavirus cases had increased by 6 percent. As of Sept. 30, the village had reported 568 total cases of the new coronavirus. Those numbers had increased to 601 as of Oct. 7.

Wheaton has had 25 confirmed deaths since the county started tracking its coronavirus numbers, DCHD data shows. According to the DCHD website, there were five active coronavirus cases in Wheaton as of Oct. 7. According to county health officials, these numbers could be "much higher" due to unreported cases.
