Wheaton Home Damaged by Fire

A single-family home was damaged in a blaze Wednesday night.

The fire was reported in an unoccupied home in the 1400 block of Avery Avenue at 9 p.m., according to a Wheaton Fire Department press release.

Firefighters found a fire on the first and second floors of the home upon and were able to get the blaze under control within 15 minutes.

The home was deemed uninhabitable and the fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature.

Damage is estimated to be around $150,000.
