Woman Allegedly Stole $2K In Items From Victoria's Secret
Police are still investigating the incident in which a woman allegedly stole more than $2,300 from a Victoria's Secret in Bloomingdale.

BLOOMINGDALE, IL — A Chicago woman has been charged with burglary after she allegedly stole more than $2,000 worth of items from a Victoria's Secret in the Stratford Square Mall in Bloomingdale Wednesday. Latasha Garrett, 25, is accused of entering the store with "accomplices," taking several items, and leaving without paying, according to a news release from DuPage County State's Attorney.
Police say Garrett stole the items at approximately 5:14 p.m. and was pulled over about a half hour later and taken into custody. Police are still investigating the incident and trying to track down Garrett's alleged "accomplices."
DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said of the charges, "According to the National Retail Federation, in 2016, shoplifting cost businesses in the United States $17.8 billion in losses. When you do the math that comes to nearly $49 million every day. These losses, which obviously present a tremendous hardship to retail establishments, are ultimately passed on to consumers."
