Woman Fatally Struck By Metra Train In DuPage County: Authorities

Police were investigating, according to a social media post from the village government, which advised people to avoid the area.

LOMBARD, IL — A woman was fatally struck by a Metra train on Monday evening in Lombard, according to a Metra spokesperson.

Union Pacific West outbound train No. 51 hit the woman in the area of South Stewart and East Parkside avenues before the Lombard station, authorities said.

Trains were expected to start moving at a restricted speed with delays as of about 6:30 p.m., Metra spokesperson Martha Hill told Patch.
