Woman's Body Found By Firefighters Battling Blaze In Lombard: Report

LOMBARD, IL — A woman was found dead inside a home that caught fire in Lombard Wednesday morning, according to the Daily Herald.

Fire crews were called to the 400 block of South Park Road around 8:10 a.m. and arrived to find a fire in an attached garage that had extended to a single-family home. The woman's body was found when firefighters entered the home to put out the blaze.

It took fire crews 15 minutes to put out the flames, which caused roughly $100,000 in damage to the home. As of Wednesday evening the identity of the dead woman, who was believed to be the Lombard home's only occupant, had not been released.
