I was excited to find out that my co-worker had a son who was playing baseball and shared the trials and tribs of being a parent with such a talented kid.
Being a former athlete myself, I have always enjoyed watching the youths compete because you can see it in their faces that they are eager to learn and eager for success. Love watching the little league World Series. These kids from all over, from all walks, are great to watch. They are hungry for success. You get to see the ones that are striving and you also see the premadonna's that you know do not lack talent but lack in sportsmanship and restraint. All in all, still something else to watch these kids imitate their favorite MLB players and or make their own mark on the sport.
Allover the midwest this summer (might I say, Finally) things are back to normal and the youths are out there giving it their best playing baseball!

If you really want to have a great American summer, get out and see a game this year if you have not. Take your family, have a picnic, and learn that these kids need our support also. They don't get money from some big corporate sponsor and make hoards of money. But they are doing their best and so are their parents. Find a team and follow them and support them. The whole neighborhood should abandon the major league games for a while and pile into the parks allover and cheer(not jeer and curse and drink) these kids on. Let them know they are doing great. Encourage them if they lose. MOST of all, ----HAVE SOME FAMILY FUN !
