3 Vehicles Stolen From Inside Biz Overnight: Glenview Police Blotter
Police responded to an alarm at a business in the 1800 block of Pickwick Avenue when they discovered the cars missing.

Kirill Kapelson, 29, of the 2300 block of Greenwood Road, Glenview, had a warrant out of Glenview for bond forfeiture, and was arrested at 3:39 p.m. Feb. 5, following the investigation of an incident in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road. He was held for a bond hearing at the Skokie Courthouse.

A 31-year-old Prospect Heights resident is accused of no driver's license, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and was arrested at 8 p.m. Feb. 5, following the investigation of a traffic crash in the 1700 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was released on bond.
FRAUD
Jeremy Baker, 33, of the 400 block of Paxton Street, Calumet City, is accused of possession of a fictitious driver's license with the intent to commit fraud, leaving the scene of a property damage crash, and was arrested at 11:57 a.m. Feb. 2, following the investigation of an incident reported on May 6, 2022, at 1200 Milwaukee Avenue. He was released on bond.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Eduardo Martinez, 24, of the 400 block of Inland Circle, Wheeling, is accused of aggravated driving on a suspended license, driving on a suspended driver's license, resisting arrest, driving under the influence of alcohol, fleeing and eluding, improper use of registration, illegal transportation of alcohol, speeding, improper lane usage, and was arrested at 1:38 pm. Feb. 2, after an investigation into an incident that occurred on Nov. 25, 2022, in the 4500 block of West Lake Avenue. He will attend a bond hearing at the Skokie Courthouse.

INCIDENTS
NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE
An Island Lake resident was cited at 11:21 a.m. Feb. 1, for no valid driver's license, loud muffler following a traffic stop in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
RETAIL THEFT
- An employee of a business in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported at 4:44 p.m. Feb. 1, two females entered the store, gathered clothing items, and left the store without paying for the items. The pair were last seen entering a brown vehicle.
- An employee of a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road called police to report a theft that occurred at 2:04 p.m. Feb. 1. Video surveillance showed a known retail theft offender conceal items and exit the store without making payment.
BURGLARY FROM MOTOR VEHICLE
- A Mount Prospect resident called police to report on Jan. 30 someone stole the catalytic converter from under their vehicle while it was parked in a parking lot in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road.
- A Zionsville, Indiana resident reported that the catalytic converter from their vehicle was removed while it was parked during the overnight hours of Feb. 3 in the 4500 block of West Lake Avenue.
- A Saratoga Lane resident reported that between 7:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Feb. 6, someone stole the catalytic converter from under their vehicle while the vehicle was parked in a parking lot in the 1800 block of Landwehr Road.
BURGLARY
- Police responded to a business in the 1800 block of Pickwick Avenue at 2:11 a.m. Feb. 2, for an alarm. They found it unoccupied, with the rear rolling garage door open. Three vehicles were stolen from inside the business.
- Police responded to a business in the 1700 block of Waukegan Road at 4:02 a.m. Feb. 6, for an alarm and located a front door propped open by a case of water and a shopping cart. The business was checked and unoccupied. Recorded video surveillance showed at 3:59 a.m. a vehicle backing up to the front door, three subjects pry open the front door, and the subjects entering the business. The subjects removed a cash drawer and unknown liquor bottles from the business. At 4:02 a.m., the subjects leave in the vehicle.
- Police responded to a business in the 2600 block of Shermer Road at 4:16 a.m. Feb. 6, for an alarm and located a shattered front glass window. The business was checked and unoccupied. The owner said several bottles of liquor appeared to be missing from the business.
FORGERY
- An employee of a business in the 1600 block of Waukegan Road reported on Feb. 3 that on July 16, 2022, two customers cashed similar checks from the same company.
- A Valor Court resident reported at 12:54 p.m. Feb. 4, a check they mailed in the outdoor mailbox at the Glenview Post Office, 1400 Patriot Blvd., was altered by an unknown offender and cashed for a different amount.
SPEEDING
- A Chicago resident was cited for speeding 26-34 mph over the speed limit after a traffic stop at 9:29 p.m. Feb. 3, in the 1500 block of Waukegan Road.
- A Morton Grove resident was cited for speeding 26-34 mph over the speed limit, failure to signal, after a traffic stop at 8:54 p.m. Feb. 3, in the 1700 block of Waukegan Road.
- A Niles resident was cited at 11:52 a.m. Feb. 6, for speeding 26-34 mph over the speed limit following a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Sanders Road.
FLEEING AND ELUDING
While conducting a premise check at 2:29 a.m. Feb. 4, at a business in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue due to a surge in catalytic converter thefts, police saw a newer model black vehicle bearing an unreadable registration drive through the parking lot at a high rate of speed. The vehicle fled northbound Milwaukee Avenue at a high rate of speed.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Northbrook resident reported at 9:54 a.m. Feb. 4, someone used their recently deceased mother’s credit cards for purchases.
STOLEN VEHICLE
A resident in the 2200 block of Henley Street reported at 11:21 a.m. Feb 5, someone stole their vehicle parked on the street in the 2200 block of Linneman Street, unlocked, with the keys inside.
SUSPENDED/REVOKED LICENSE
A Highwood resident was cited at 2:55 p.m. Feb. 5, or suspended driver’s license, no insurance, following a traffic stop in the 3700 block of Willow Road.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
A resident in the 2800 block of Meadowview Court reported that between 4 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. Feb. 5, someone forced entry to their home through the front door, ransacked several rooms and stole personal items.
