Statistics indicate that 25% of all children will be bullied at some point during their school years. For children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders, bullying rates are almost doubled. If you are a parent of a child with ASD, be aware that bullying is prevalent in this age group, and your child may need help addressing this problem.
For more information on bullying as well as a personal anti-bullying manifesto, check out Dr. Clatch's previous Daily Blog on bullying, "Telling Tattletales Out Of School," now up on the Glenview Patch!
And of course, if you feel your child is in need of professional help to guide them through dealing with bullying at school, please feel free to contact Courage to Connect to schedule an appointment with Dr. Clatch.
