GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
An employee reported July 10 that an ATM at a bank in the 900 block of Milwaukee Avenue had been tampered with, resulting in the theft of $66,000 in cash.
A resident reported July 12 that approximately $13,000 worth of sterling silverware and jewelry had been stolen from their home.
A resident reported July 10 that numerous pieces of jewelry and several watches were missing after caretakers had been inside the home. The estimated loss was $10,000.
Employees at a business in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported July 10 that two women ran from the store with approximately $2,000 worth of clothing without paying.
Police were also told that a woman had taken merchandise from the same block on two separate occasions. The combined loss was estimated at $4,258.30.
Employees at a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported July 13 that two people had left the store July 8 with a shopping cart containing $1,597.55 worth of liquor without paying.
A resident reported July 8 that a credit card was stolen from their front porch shortly after it was delivered.
The card was then used to make several fraudulent purchases totaling thousands of dollars. The resident reported an unreimbursed loss of $820.81.
A resident reported July 7 that after mailing a check to John Hancock Insurance Company, an unknown woman allegedly altered it to $1,340 and attempted to cash it at a Glenview bank.
The woman fled after she was questioned, according to police.
A business owner reported July 7 that a former employee had unlawfully retained the company’s credit card and used it to make purchases.
A resident in the 2700 block of Harrison Street reported July 9 that they sent $150 through Cash App for Chicago White Sox tickets advertised on Snapchat.
The seller reportedly blocked the resident immediately after receiving the payment.
A business in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard reported July 9 that two gift cards purchased from the store had been tampered with, making them unusable. The reported loss was $200.
Police responded July 9 to a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road after someone removed security devices from a gaming mouse and gaming microphone and left without paying. The reported loss was $284.98.
During a separate reported theft at the same location, someone removed a security device from a gaming controller and left without paying. The controller was valued at $199.99.
A resident in the 3900 block of Glenview Road reported July 11 that two gold rings were missing. The estimated loss was $1,500.
An Ohio resident reported July 11 that their bag had been stolen July 8 while they were eating at a restaurant in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard.
A resident reported July 8 that while driving into a parking lot in the 200 block of Waukegan Road, a man struck the passenger-side door of their vehicle, leaving a dent.
The man left before officers arrived.
Officers attempted to stop a red moped carrying two people July 8 in the 4700 block of West Lake Avenue.
Police said the riders did not stop after officers activated their emergency lights and sirens.
A resident in the 1800 block of Tanglewood Drive reported July 10 that a man opened the screen door to their condominium at approximately 6:45 a.m. July 9.
The resident described the man as white, in his 30s, with slicked-back black hair. He left after dogs began barking and was heard saying, “wrong address.”
A Zion resident reported July 14 that while at a business in the 1700 block of Milwaukee Avenue, a woman exited the vehicle in front of them and threw a hairbrush at their car.
Jesse Schermerhorn, 49, of Roscoe, was arrested July 15 and charged with two counts of aggravated home repair fraud following an investigation.
He was given a July 17 court date in Skokie.
Deajenae McNeal, 24, of Merrillville, Indiana, was arrested July 6 at the Chicago Police Department on a Glenview arrest warrant.
McNeal was charged with aggravated identity theft and held for a conditions hearing.
Kuzman Petrov, 53, of Chicago, was arrested July 18 and charged with criminal damage to property following an investigation into damage to a vehicle at a gas station in the 2400 block of Sanders Road.
Petrov was released under Cook County’s non-discretionary pretrial release conditions and assigned an Aug. 14 court date in Skokie.
Nelson Serrano-Bahri, 43, of Glenview, was arrested July 8 and charged with domestic battery following an investigation at a residence.
Serrano-Bahri was transported to the Cook County Jail for a conditions hearing.
Marcus Transue, 37, was arrested July 15 following a traffic stop in the 2500 block of East Lake Avenue and charged with driving under the influence.
Transue was released under Cook County’s non-discretionary pretrial release conditions and assigned an Aug. 27 court date in Skokie.
David Bennett, 68, of Northbrook, was arrested July 18 and charged with failure to remain at the scene of an accident following an investigation into a crash near a business in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road.
Bennett was released under Cook County’s non-discretionary pretrial release conditions and assigned an Aug. 27 court date in Skokie.
Reiberth Sanchez Cuervas, 31, of Chicago, was arrested July 17 following a traffic stop in the 4500 block of West Lake Avenue.
Cuervas was charged with driving without a valid license and speeding. He was cited, released and assigned an Aug. 28 court date in Skokie.
Nathanial Roman, 27, of Wheeling, was arrested July 15 in the 4600 block of West Lake Avenue and charged with violating an order of protection.
Roman was taken to the Cook County Jail for a conditions hearing.
In a separate case, Jason K. Braganza, 49, was arrested July 10 in Wilmette after allegedly violating an active order of protection in Glenview.
Braganza was held pending transportation to the Skokie courthouse.
Anujin Tuvshintur, 18, of Northbrook, was arrested July 6 in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue and charged with reckless driving.
Tuvshintur was released under Cook County’s non-discretionary pretrial release conditions and assigned an Aug. 14 court date in Skokie.
Ervin Montiel Vargas, 22, of Des Plaines, was arrested July 9 following a traffic stop in the 3600 block of East Lake Avenue and charged with speeding between 26 and 34 mph over the limit.
Montiel Vargas was cited, released and assigned an Aug. 11 court date in Skokie.
Gantugla Oidovdorj, 20, was arrested July 9 following a traffic stop in the 3200 block of Sanders Road and charged with speeding between 26 and 34 mph over the limit and driving without insurance.
Oidovdorj was cited, released and assigned a July 27 court date in Skokie.
Subul Baig, 46, of Morton Grove, was arrested July 8 following a traffic stop in the 2200 block of Johns Drive and charged with speeding between 26 and 34 mph over the limit.
Baig was cited, released and assigned a July 28 court date in Skokie.
Joseph Varghese, 56, of Lewisville, Texas, was arrested July 19 following a traffic stop in the 3100 block of Sanders Road and charged with speeding 26 mph or more over the limit.
Varghese was cited, released and assigned an Aug. 11 court date in Skokie.
Gilbert Garcia, 68, of Palatine, was arrested July 12 following a traffic stop in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
Garcia was charged with driving with a suspended license and operating a vehicle with registration suspended lacking insurance. He was cited, released and assigned an Aug. 14 court date in Skokie.
