"Our parks, facilities and recreational programs are an important part of what makes Glenview such a special place to live and raise a family," Sewell said in his campaign announcement. "I'm running to help protect that legacy while making sure residents have a strong voice in the decisions that will shape the future of our Park District."

Sewell identified four campaign priorities:

As part of the campaign, Sewell plans to launch "26 Parks in 26 Weeks," visiting parks, meeting residents and gathering feedback about facilities and programs.

"This campaign isn't just about asking people for their vote. It's about listening," Sewell said. "I want to hear directly from the people who use our parks, facilities and programs — what they value, what they want to protect and what they believe we can do better."

His announcement describes longstanding family ties to Glenview and its recreational programs.

The park district is a separate governing body from the Village of Glenview, with commissioners elected by voters residing within district boundaries.

According to the district's candidate information notice, nominating petitions must include at least 148 signatures from qualified voters. The filing period runs Nov. 16–23 at the district's administration building, 1930 Prairie St.
