Arrest Made At Hospital Following Car Crash Investigation: Glenview PD

Three people involved in a crash last Saturday were taken to Lutheran General Hospital with injuries, including the Mount Prospect man.

GLENVIEW, IL — A Mount Prospect man was arrested Wednesday at Lutheran General Hospital in connection with a car crash last weekend that sent three people involved, including the 28-year-old, to the hospital with injuries.

Krzysztof Lazarski, of the 1700 block of Carib Lane, is accused of aggravated driving under the influence in a car accident, DUI, reckless driving, speeding 35+ mph over the speed limit, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to wear a properly fastened seatbelt, improper lane usage (crossing dividing space), and was arrested at 5:11 p.m. Aug. 28, in Park Ridge. He was released following a hearing Thursday.

According to police, the two-car crash happened at around 8:37 p.m. Aug. 24, in the 4700 block of West Lake Avenue. A 2024 Audi Q3, driven by Lazarski, was traveling westbound on West Lake Avenue from Milwaukee Avenue when it crossed over the center line into the eastbound lanes.

A 2019 Subaru Accent was traveling eastbound at the time on West Lake Avenue from Magnolia, and was struck by Lazarski, ejecting the passenger of the Subaru. Both occupants of the Subaru and Lazarski were taken to the hospital by the Glenview Fire Department. The driver of the Subaru was admitted with non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger of the same car underwent surgery and is currently in stable condition. Lazarski was admitted with minor injuries.

Glenview police were assisted in the investigation by the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force Major Crash Assistance Team.
