Attention Lovers of Downton Abbey Sign Up for Free Library Program

Hear about the real Downton Abbey April 15 at Park Ridge Library

The Summit of Uptown will join the Park Ridge Public Library and Tea Lula in presenting Lady Almina and the Real Downton Abbey portrayed by Lynn Rymarz on Tuesday, April 15, at 2 p.m. at the library, 20 S. Prospect.  There is no charge for the program, but reservations are required and may be made by calling 847-720-3280 or at the library registration page at http://tinyurl.com/mnp2mqk

Join storyteller, Lynn Rymarz as she explores the character of Lady Almina and the lost legacy of Highclere Castle in Britain.  Hear about the real historical characters that lived there including Lady Almina who became a nurse and took care of soldiers during World War I when the castle was transformed into a hospital.  Find out about the gala parties she hosted and attended as well as her generous giving spirit.  Discover how her husband, the 5th Earl of Carnarvon, helped to discover the tomb of King Tutankhamen.

Following the program Tea Lula will serve a special Lady Almina blend along with tea sandwiches provided by The Summit’s Chef Dave Marino. Special Downton Abbey, Tea Lula and other prizes will be awarded.

Lady Almina and the Real Downton Abbey is just one of a variety of programs and activities presented by The Summit of Uptown.  When programs are held at The Summit, guests are encouraged to arrive early or stay late for tours of the newly renovated retirement community.  Parking is always available in the City’s central parking lot and the Uptown lot across the street.
