Research on brain development has shown that children's brains are not fully formed until the age of 25. While many parents may believe that their children, particularly teens, lack emotional or impulse control, this is partially due to the fact that their children's brains are still growing and will continue to do so into adulthood. Recognizing this - and perhaps ruminating on their own actions and thought processes when they were that age - will help parents to better understand and accept their children's perplexing behavior.
