Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day is Today

Around the world, today is Free Cone Day at Ben and Jerry’s and Glenview is home to the only participating location in Illinois.

Shops across the world will be scooping out free ice cream from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14 including the one at 1860 Tower Drive at The Glen Town Center in Glenview. If you are in other areas of the United States or elsewhere in the world, you can find your location here.

According to the Free Cone Day 2015 Facebook page, the tradition dates back to 1979 and is the company’s way “to celebrate and say thanks for another year of support.”

With such deliciousness being given away, the only decision left for what’s sure to be thousands or millions of consumers is what kind of ice cream to get. An informal poll on Ben and Jerry’s website shows 47 percent going with the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, 30 percent in favor of Cherry Garcia and a 23 percent support rate for the Chocolate Fudge Brownie.
