A search had been ongoing since early Sunday morning, according to Inaki's father, Jose Bascaran. Inaki, a graduate of the University of Illinois, was asked to leave Celeste because he may have been too intoxicated.
The roommate who last spoke to Bascaran said he told him he was going to walk five miles back to their Lakeview apartment after trying and failing to get back into the bar. He was near a Walgreens during the 11:30 p.m. video call and had not been seen since.
