Incidents and arrests from the Glenview Police Blotter for Aug. 29 - Sept. 4

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by Glenview police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. INCIDENTS

THEFT
An employee of a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road reported at 12:31 p.m. on Aug. 28 that someone had stolen an animal trap owned by the company worth $75.

BATTERY
A customer in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported at 12:20 p.m. on Aug. 28 that someone had touched them inappropriately.

BURGLARY
A contractor working in the 1000 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 1:08 p.m. on Aug 29 that someone had stolen $4,000 worth of copper from the worksite.

INSTAGRAM HARASSMENT
A resident in the 2000 block of Spruce Drive reported at 4:06 p.m. on Aug. 29 that someone had sent them unwanted Instagram messages.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
A passerby reported finding graffiti shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 29 on a pedestrian bridge near the Techny Basin 1893 Westleigh Drive. The estimated repair cost was $100.

THEFT
An employee in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Avenue reported at 7:14 p.m. on Aug. 29 that someone had stolen an iPad worth $1,000 from their desk.

THEFT
An employee in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported at 1:51 p.m. on Aug. 30 that someone had stolen a cellphone worth $400 from a back room a back room.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A customer in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported at 3:31 p.m. that someone had intentionally damaged their vehicle by opening a car door into it, causing a dent. The estimated cost to repair was $100.

THEFT
Someone stole an $800 cellphone that had been left unattended on a counter by a customer at a business in the 3700 block of Willow Road.

HARASSMENT BY TEXT
A resident in the 1300 block of Cariann Lane reported around 9:15 p.m. on Aug. 29 that they had been receiving unwanted text messages.

THEFT
A resident in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 4:32 p.m. on Aug. 31 that someone had stolen $150 from a wheelchair.

IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 1600 block of Brandon Road reported at 4:34 p.m. on Aug. 31 that someone had opened up unauthorized lines of credit using their identities, spending $5,000.

RETAIL THEFT
An employee of a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported at 8:49 p.m. on Aug. 31 that someone had run out of the store with $300 worth of Nike apparel.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
An employee in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported on Sept. 1 around 9 a.m. that someone had broken a window on the first floor and gotten into a room. The room was damaged but nothing was reported stolen. The reported loss was a little over $105.

UNWANTED CUSTOMER
An employee in the 1500 block of Waukegan Road reported around 11 a.m. on Sept. 1 that a customer was irate and causing a disturbance.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A motorist in the 1500 block of Evergreen Terrace reported at 5:47 p.m. on Sept. 1 that someone had thrown eggs at their car, chipping the paint for a loss of $5,000.

THEFT
A customer in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 7:51 p.m. on Sept. 1 that someone had stolen a bike worth $150 after it had been chained to a tree.

TELEPHONE HARASSMENT
An employee in the 1700 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 9:26 p.m. on Sept. 1 that they had been receiving unwanted telephone calls.

THEFT
A resident in the 2100 block of Winchester Lane reported at 1:05 p.m. on Sept. 2 that someone had stolen $50 worth of fruit from their yard.

CRIMINAL TRESPASSING
An employee in the 2000 block of Claire Court reported at 3:10 p.m. on Sept. 2 that a customer had been yelling profanities and causing a disturbance.


ARRESTS

Lakeisha Blount, 37, of the 7300 block of South Sangamon Street in Chicago, was arrested at 9:42 a.m. on Aug. 27 at the Glenview Police Department and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to give aid or information as a result of an investigation into a hit-and-run traffic crash that took place Aug. 15 in the 1700 block of East Lake Avenue. She was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Terezia Burca, 51, and Adela Burca, 25, both of the 5500 block of South Pulaski Avenue in Chicago, were arrested around 9 p.m. on Aug. 29 and charged with retail theft in the 1900 block of Tower Drive following an investigation.

Katlyn J. Swanson, 28, of the 1100 block of Huber Lane in Glenview, was arrested at 9:21 p.m. on Aug. 31 and charged with charged with driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs following a traffic stop in the 3600 block of East Lake Avenue.

A 35-year-old Prospect Heights man was arrested at 2:51 a.m. on Sept. 1 and charged with driving with a suspended driver's license after a traffic stop in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was also issued a speeding ticket.
