Child Stroller Thief Returns Stolen Item: Glenview Police Blotter

Officers contacted the person who took the stroller and it was returned to the owner.

VIOLATION OF ORDER OF PROTECTION

Christopher Ray, 28, of the 4800 block of W. Warwick, Chicago, had a warrant out of DuPage County for two separate violations of an order of protection, and was arrested at 10:31 p.m. Nov. 26, after a traffic crash investigation in the 100 block of Waukegan Road. He was held for a bond hearing on Nov. 28.

  • Olivia G. Cepeda, 25, of the 1700 block of Greenwood Road, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol, unlawful possession of cannabis, and was arrested at 11:46 p.m. Nov. 26, following an investigation of a traffic crash in the 100 block of Waukegan Road. She was released on bond with a court date set for Dec. 30.
  • Antonio Calvillo-Lopez, 52, of the 10400 block of Dearlove Road, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage, and was arrested at 8 p.m. Nov. 22, following a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was released on bond with a court date set for Dec. 30.
  • Diego Martinez Pereyra, 18, of the 3100 block of Coral Lane, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC of .08 or more, improper backing, uninsured motor vehicle, unlawful possession of a fraudulent driver's license, and was arrested at 12:03 a.m. Nov. 23, following a traffic crash investigation in the 2200 block of Henley Street. He was released on bond with a court date set for Dec. 30.

SPEEDING

  • A Chicago resident was cited at 4:51 p.m. Nov. 22, for speeding (26-34 mph over the speed limit) following a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue. They were released on bond with a court date set for Jan. 5, 2023.
  • A Golf resident was cited at 7:21 p.m. Nov. 22, for speeding (26-34 mph over the speed limit) following a traffic stop in the 4600 block of West Lake Avenue. They were released on bond with a court date set for Jan. 5, 2023.
  • A Palatine resident was cited at 10:45 p.m. Nov. 25, was cited for speeding, driving with a suspended driver's license, following a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Sanders Road. They were released on bond, with a court date set for Dec. 20.
  • A Wheeling resident was cited at 7:40 p.m. Nov. 26, for speeding (26-34 mph over the speed limit), following a traffic stop in the area of Sanders Road and Milwaukee Avenue. They were released on bond with a court date set for Dec. 16.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

  • A Morton Grove resident reported at 9:10 a.m. Nov. 23, the catalytic converter stolen from their vehicle, while it sat parked in the parking lot at 1400 Milwaukee Avenue during the overnight hours of Nov. 23.
  • A resident in the 1800 block of Henley Street called police at 3:15 a.m. Nov. 24, to report getting a motion alert on their doorbell camera showing several subjects walking around the parking lot pulling on car door handles.

FORGERY

  • A resident in the 2400 block of Robincrest Lane called police at 11:27 a.m. Nov. 23, to report a check they sent in the mail was intercepted and cashed to a different person for a different amount.
  • A resident in the 3900 block of Harvest Lane reported at 12:04 p.m. Nov. 24, a check they mailed from the Glenview U.S. Post Office was intercepted in the mail and cashed in a different amount and in a different name.

SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE

  • A Burlington, Wisconsin resident was cited at 11:46 a.m. Nov. 23, for driving while license suspended, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash following a traffic crash investigation at Glenview Road and Shermer Road. They were released on bond with a court date set for Dec. 14.
  • A Wheeling resident was cited at 8:53 p.m. Nov. 26, for driving with a suspended driver's license, no insurance, following a traffic stop in the 4800 block of West Lake Avenue. They were released on bond with a court date set for Dec. 28.

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee of a business in the 3700 block of Willow Road reported at 8:21 p.m. Nov. 23, a man wearing a black sweatshirt, blue jeans and white shoes, exited the store without paying for alcoholic beverages and several food items. He left the area in an older model vehicle.
  • An employee of a business in the 1800 block of Tower Drive reported at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 26, one male and two females, all three described as between 20 and 30 years of age, took merchandise for sale from the store without paying and left in a black vehicle with no plates. Employees recognized all three subjects from the day prior when they entered the store and asked multiple questions regarding merchandise.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

  • A resident in the 2400 block of Bel Air Drive reported at 10:59 p.m. Nov. 23, several males threw items at their vehicle while they waited in the drive-thru at a business in the 1700 block of Waukegan Road. The thrown items left scratches in the vehicle's paint.
  • An employee of a business in the 1800 block of Glenview Road reported at 8:03 a.m. Nov. 24, glue was found on the front and back door lock cylinders. The door locks were inoperable and damaged due to the glue inside the locks.

THEFT

A resident in the 1300 block of Somerset Drive reported at 1:36 p.m. Nov. 25, renting an apartment overseas through a fraudulent rental website.

THEFT OF LOST PROPERTY

A Niles resident reported at 8:32 p.m. Nov 25, the theft of a child stroller from a business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Officers contacted the person who took the stroller, and it was returned to the owner.
