Contractor Never Did Work, $3,200 Worth Of Items Stolen From Garage: Glenview Crimes

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity and includes both incidents reported by the public and arrests made by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indicator of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations. INCIDENTS
DISPUTE
An employee in the 1800 block of Tower Drive reported a customer was yelling and swearing in the store on July 4 at 11:22 a.m.

IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 2400 block of Waukegan Road reported on July 5 that they had received an e-mail indicating a purchase was being delivered to the south side of Chicago, leading them to discover their credit card had been compromised. There was no immediate reported loss.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Shortly after 11 a.m. on July 5,a resident in the 2500 block of Osage Drive reported their vehicle was damaged by a sharp object for a reported loss of $800.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A motorist driving northbound in the 1600 block of Waukegan Road reported a dispute with another driver who threw a can at their car and damaged a mirror, causing $100 in damage, on July 5 at 12:21 p.m.
IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 1000 block of Pfingsten Road reported someone used their credit card account to make out of state purchases without authorization at 4:23 p.m. on July 5, but there was no immediate reported loss.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS
At 9:13 p.m. on July 5, a resident in the 2000 block of Burr Oak Drive reported observing a stranger open their gate and enter their backyard without permission.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A resident in the 1900 block of Larkdale Drive reported someone threw eggs at the siding of their home at 10:41 p.m. on July 5. There was no damage.
THEFT
An employee in the 2800 block of Patriot Boulevard reported a customer returned equipment with missing parts for a loss of $100 on July 6 at 9:49 a.m.
FORGERY
A resident in the 3900 block of Chester Drive reported at 11:22 a.m. on July 6 they had been the recipient of an offer to advertise on their car for money. The resident was sent a check in the mail and discovered it was a scam before any loss could take place.
IDENTITY THEFT
Shortly after 2 p.m on July 6, a resident in the 2500 block of West Lake Avenue reported someone used their personal information to open a utility account and rack up $550 in bills.
THEFT
On July 6 at 3 p.m., a patron in the 3600 Glenview Road reported someone entered an unlocked locker and stole cash and a telephone worth $625.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
A resident in the 2600 block of Goldenrod Lane reported someone entered their open garage and took $3,200 worth of tools and personal items shortly after 3:30 p.m on July 6.
IDENTITY THEFT
On July 6 at 3:53 p.m., a resident in the 2300 block of Indian Ridge Drive reported someone used their personal information to open credit card account, but there was no reported loss.
TRESPASSING
Officers in the 1700 block of Sunset Ridge Road discovered three persons in a building closed for the evening without permission, at 9:52 p.m. on July 6.
THEFT
A customer in the 900 block of River Drive reported someone took their unlocked bike from in front of the business at 12:21 on July 7. The reported loss was $200.
RETAIL THEFT
At 7:13 p.m. on July 7, an employee in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road reported someone left the store with $450 worth of merchandise without paying for it.
THEFT/CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive reported someone took parts off their vehicle shortly after 7:30 p.m. on July 7. The reported loss was $170.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
At 11:19 a.m. on July 8, police noticed a light post in the 2700 block of Sable Drive had been spray-painted for a reported loss of $50.
THEFT
Shortly before 3 p.m. on July 8, a customer in the 3300 block of Glenview Road reported someone took their unlocked bike worth $200 from in front of the business.
HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION
On July 9 at 1448 hours, a resident in the 2600 block of Park Lane reported receiving unwanted chat messages.
BURGLARY
A resident in the 2100 block of Glenview Road reported at 9:14 p.m. on July 9 that someone had gained entry to their house and stole $1,500 worth of clothing and electronics.
IDENTITY THEFT
At 10:54 p.m. on July 10, a customer at the strip mall in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported someone stole their credit cards and used them without authorization for a reported loss of $4,000.
IDENTITY THEFT
At 10:52 a.m. on July 10, an employee in the strip mall in the 2800 block of Pfingsten Road reported someone opened a credit card account in their name and charged $4,000 to it.
THEFT
A resident in the 2400 block of Central Road reported at 11:15 a.m. on July 10 that a contractor failed to do work after receiving a down payment of $3,500.
IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 1700 Highland Terrace reported at 11:22 a.m. on July 10 that someone filed applications for business accounts in their name without authorization, although there was no report of any loss.
ARRESTS
SUSPENDED LICENSE
On July 5, a 34-year-old Wilmette man was arrested at 11:30 p.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license, speeding and improper lane usage in the 1000 block of East Lake Avenue.
SPEEDING
On July 5, a 23-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 11:33 p.m. and charged with speeding in the 500 block of East Lake Avenue.
DOMESTIC BATTERY
Daniel Morris, 18, of the 10400 block of Michael Todd Terrace, was arrested at 2:13 a.m. on July 6 and charged with domestic battery in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
SUSPENDED REGISTRATION
A 24-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested in the 3800 block of Willow Road at 1:49 a.m. on July 7 and charged with driving with a suspended registration and driving with no valid driver’s license.
RETAIL THEFT
An 89-year-old Northbrook woman was arrested in the strip mall in the 2200 block of Willow Road shortly before 4 p.m. on July 7 and charged with retail theft.
RETAIL THEFT
Zaneta Jurczyk, 40, of the first block of Lancaster Lane in Lincolnshire, was arrested at 8:22 p.m. on July 8 in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue and charged with retail theft. Police said she allegedly stole headphones valued at $300 from Abt Electronics and was taken into custody without incident.
