Customer Denied French Fries, Throws Rocks At Biz: Glenview PD Blotter

Ricky Beltran, 37, of the 3800 block of W. 57th Street, Chicago, is accused of possession of a controlled substance, and was arrested at 3:44 p.m. March 21, in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue. A court date of March 24 was assigned.

INCIDENTS
BURGLARY TO AUTO
Three residents in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive reported that between March 23 and March 24, someone had smashed the passenger side rear window of their vehicles while they were parked in the parking garage. It appeared the person had gained entry to the vehicles, but nothing was taken. Two other residents did have things stolen from their cars, including a MacBook Pro laptop computer, four fuel cards, a wallet containing an identification card and several debit cards, an Adidas duffle bag containing uniforms and a plaque.
RETAIL THEFT
- An employee of a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported that at 1 p.m. March 17, two people had entered the store at and removed $1,644.28 worth of alcohol products past the last point of sale without paying.
- An employee for a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported that at 11:40 a.m. March 24, a Prospect Heights resident was seen on surveillance taking 11 cleaning/car care products, 24 bottles of liquor, and one case of beer past the last point of purchase without paying for the items. They left the items in a shopping cart in the parking lot and fled in a vehicle. The person is a suspect in numerous previous retail thefts and was later arrested by Highland Park Police Department for a Burglary. Merchandise total is $1,015.84.
TRESPASS WARNING
- An employee for a business in the 2100 block of Waukegan Road called police at 3:06 p.m. March 18, to report someone had entered the business and ordered fries. After the food was delivered, the person only paid $3 on a $6 bill. The employee took the fries away and the person got upset, causing a disturbance. The employee told them to leave. The person went to the parking lot and began throwing rocks at the business. They were given a trespass warning not to return.
- Employees for a business in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 3:45 p.m. March 18, to report a customer was causing disturbances by staring and swearing at guests and staff. They requested they be asked to leave and given a trespass warning. The person gathered their belongings and left without incident.
HARASSMENT
Employees for a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road called police at 4:59 p.m. March 20, to report someone was continually harassing the staff. This has been an ongoing issue that the business’ legal team is addressing. The subject was issued a Village Ordinance citation for disorderly conduct.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A Locust Avenue resident reported that at 5:50 p.m. March 24, they had inadvertently cut off another driver when they changed lanes to go around an Amazon delivery truck that was stopped westbound East Lake Avenue, approaching Sunset Ridge Road. The driver of the other vehicle stopped at the light and exited, approaching the complainant's car and slapping a piece of gum on the driver’s window. Both vehicles then continued westbound. At Waukegan Road, the driver pulled next to the complainant and swore at them, calling them names and saying they would "beat their ass." They pulled into the police station lot and the other vehicle continued westbound. The driver is described as a black male in their early to mid 20s, wearing a black zip up hoodie and a hat. The vehicle he was driving was a black Ford SUV.
