Escort Service Call Turns Into $3K Demand: Glenview Police Blotter

  • Maksym Neizvitskyi, 41, of the 600 block of Carriage Hill Drive, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to yield turning left, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 11:16 p.m. March 15, following a traffic crash investigation in the 1400 block of Patriot Boulevard. He was released and assigned a court date of April 8.
  • Hal Kline, 29, of the 1400 block of Plymouth Lane, Glenview, is accused of DUI alcohol, DUI alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, unlawful use of cannabis by driver, speeding 21-25 mph over the limit, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 8:48 p.m. March 14, in the 1700 block of East Lake Avenue. He was released following his arrest.

HARASSMENT ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION

A Sanford Lane resident called police at 10:37 a.m. March 11, to report they had called what they thought was an escort service and talked to a female for a while. They then went to bed and began getting text messages from someone demanding $3,000. They also received other random messages showing people with injuries and continuing to demand money.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A resident of the 1300 block of Pleasant Lane reported at 10:53 a.m. March 11, someone had sent a text message of their home with a bomb emoji and a clock emoji. They believe someone from a foreign government sent the message since they help foreign residents. The message came from an international phone number.

SALE OF TOBACCO TO A MINOR

Glenview police observed at 7:50 p.m. March 12, three underage females purchasing tobacco products from a business in the 2200 block of Waukegan Road. Officers spoke to the trio who admitted to purchasing the tobacco so they could all smoke. They were issued village ordinance citations for possession of tobacco products by a minor. The store was cited for selling tobacco products to a minor with a mandatory court date of April 9.

EAVESDROPPING

An out-of-town resident called police on March 12 to report that on Jan. 28, they met someone on a dating app at a business in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard. They said they did not go on a second date with the subject, but on March 5, they were terminated by their employer following an internal investigation into alleged statements they made outside of work. They said they later found a website with screenshots that appear to be from their date with the person from the dating app and remarks they made about their employer. They said they used open source websites and facial recognition software and suspects the person was a setup by former colleagues.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

Employees for a business in the 500 block of Waukegan Road called police at 8:32 a.m. March 15, to report someone entered the business and asked for a glass of water. After also asking for food but being unable to pay for it, the person poured the water onto the cash register, damaging it. The person left prior to police arrival. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5-foot-2, 130 to 150 pounds, black dreadlocks, and wearing a black hat, and camouflage jacket. Estimated loss is $1,500.00.

TRESPASS WARNING

Employees for a business in the 1700 block of Waukegan Road called police at 6:25 p.m. March 16, to report someone sitting at a table, threatening to steal and refusing to leave. They were not buying anything, vaping in the restaurant, and making customers uncomfortable. Officers made contact with the person and advised them they are no longer welcome at the business. They were given a trespass warning not to return. They left without further incident.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

A Naples Court resident reported at 9:34 a.m. March 17, riding their bicycle across the street from the bus shelter in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue, when they were yelled at by a homeless person. The person ran across the street, accusing the resident of blowing kisses to their friend, and wanted to fight. The person stomped on the resident’s bicycle and threw it in the lake in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue. The person denied damaging the bicycle or making any threats toward the resident. Officers helped retrieve the bicycle from the lake and the resident did not want any further assistance.

BATTERY

Employees for a business in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 8:41 a.m. March 17, to report a male had entered an unlocked restricted access door and was walking around the back of the store. The male told employees he had to use the restroom and then began peeing in a cup that had been in his hand. The male took a bunch of items, but did not leave the store with any of them. He then pulled on car handles for vehicles parked in the lot. The male went to reenter the store and tried to push past an employee. The male then left and entered the backseat of a vehicle and left the scene.
