Police gave the customer a trespass notice following the incident at the request of the business.

Ronan T. Heaney, 58, of the 2000 block of Valley Lo Lane, Glenview, is accused of battery, and was arrested at 10:11 a.m. Feb. 24. The arrest came following an investigation into an incident on Dec. 9, 2021, in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road. He was released on bond.

Anthony Bova, of the 4500 block of Lilac Avenue, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, and was arrested at 7:10 p.m. Feb. 24, after a traffic crash investigation in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Bova was released on bond.

FRAUD

Ronald Kruger, 57, of the 400 block of S. Main Street, Wauconda, is accused of aggravated home repair fraud, and was arrested at 10:10 a.m. Feb. 23, at the Lake Couny Court house. The arrest came following the investigation of an incident reported on Jan. 13 in the 2100 block of Valley Lo Lane. He was held for a bond hearing at the Skokie Courthouse.

RETAIL THEFT

Shawn Abernathy, 54, of the 5100 block of W. Agatite Avenue, Chicago, is accused of retail theft, resisting arrest, and had a valid outstanding failure to appear warrant out of DuPage County, when he was arrested at 12:24 p.m. Feb. 23. The arrest came following the investigation of an incident in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road. He was held for a bond hearing at the Skokie Courthouse.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Erick Sanchez Yanez, 31, of the 6100 block of Talman Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, driving without headlights when required, no insurance, unsafe tires, and was arrested at 1:23 a.m. Feb. 24, following a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Waukegan Road. He was released on bond.

INCIDENTS

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A Highwood resident reported at 7:50 a.m. Feb. 21, that while driving near Milwaukee Avenue at Golf Road, the driver of another vehicle made a hand gesture that alarmed them.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A resident in the 3500 block of Glenlake Drive called police at 7:53 p.m. Feb. 21, to report a woman, between 30-40 years old, wearing a puffy coat and leggings, walked up to their residence and attempted to open the door, which was locked. The woman looked at the video doorbell and left the area.

THEFT

A Des Plaines resident reported at 10:11 a.m. Feb. 22, someone stole their bicycle, which was left unsecured behind a business in the 4300 block of Regency Drive.

UNWANTED SUBJECT

An employee of a business in the 2900 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 4:12 p.m. Feb. 22, to report a customer with a service animal created a disturbance in the store. The customer was given trespass notice at the request of the business.

DISPUTE

A Niles resident reported at 7:05 p.m. Feb. 22, a disturbance with another customer while they were at a business in the 2300 block of Capital Drive.

BURGLARY TO VEHICLE

A resident in the 1000 block of Castilian Court called police to report that between Feb. 22 and Feb. 24, someone stole the catalytic converter from their vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the parking lot.

SPEEDING

A resident was cited at 10:18 a.m. Feb. 24, for speeding (26+ mph over the posted limit) after a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Sanders Road.

TRESPASSING

  • An employee of a business in the 2100 block of Waukegan Road reported at 11 p.m. Feb. 24, a customer being rude to the employees. The customer was given trespass notice to the business.
  • At 4:15 p.m. Feb. 25, an employee of a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported solicitors in the parking lot. Officers gave the solicitors trespass notice to the business at the request of employees.
  • An employee of a business in the 2700 block of Old Willow Road called police at 2:33 p.m. Feb. 26, to report a customer possibly stealing items from the store and leaving in a black vehicle. Officers spoke with the customer when they returned to the store. Officers gave the customer trespass notice to the business at the request of employees.

RETAIL THEFT

A resident was cited at 8:08 a.m. Feb. 27, under village ordinance for theft following the investigation of an incident in the 1500 block of Waukegan Road.
