Des Plaines Man Charged with Stealing from Mariano's
Police called to report of person taking photos of vehicle. $400 worth of Pokémon cards stolen.

RETAIL THEFT/RESISTING ARREST
On August 7 at 6:20 p.m., William P. Murphy, 29, Des Plaines was charged with six counts of Retail Theft and Resisting Arrest at Mariano’s, 2323 Capital Drive.

LEAVING THE SCENE OF A VEHICLE DAMAGE CRASH
On August 9 at 3:29 a.m., Sungwoo Park, 35, 1527 Sunset Ridge Road was charged with Leaving the Scene of a Vehicle Damage Crash, Failure to Give Aid or Information and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle after a crash in the 700 block of Glenview Road.

DECEPTIVE PRACTICE
On August 10, a resident in the 4100 block of Russet Way reported someone on an internet sales website site sent a fraudulent check for payment of merchandise. There is no reported loss.
SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
On August 10 at 6:19 p.m., a resident reported a person taking pictures from a vehicle in the 3300 block of Glenview Road.
BATTERY
On August 10, a resident reported a several men were striking another person in the 3800 block of Timbers Edge Lane. They left the area prior to police arrival.
THEFT
On August 5 at 12:57 p.m., a resident in the 2600 block of Chestnut Avenue reported several pieces of jewelry missing. The reported loss is over $300.
RETAIL THEFT
On August 5 at 1:32 p.m., an agent for Mariano’s, 2323 Capitol Drive, reported three incidents of theft of alcohol by the same unknown subject. The reported loss is $390.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
On August 5 at 4:36 p.m., a resident in the 3600 block of Liberty Lane reported someone damaged their mailbox. The reported loss is $75.
THEFT
On August 6 at 11:04 a.m., a Northbrook resident reported Pokémon cards were stolen in the 1900 block of Landwehr Road. The reported loss is $400.
