  • Kelly Newcomer, 36, of the 1300 block of Greenwillow Lane, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level over .08, illegal transportation of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to give information after striking an unattended vehicle. She was arrested at her home at 8:22 a.m. Dec. 29, following an investigation into a hit-and-run accident in the 1300 block of Greenwillow Lane. She was released after posting an I-Bond and assigned a court date of Jan. 24.
  • Alexandra N. Lipscomb, 41, of the 900 block of Huckleberry Lane, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 10:24 p.m. Dec. 30, in the 1700 block of Grove Street. She was released on an I-bond and assigned a court date of Jan. 24.

DOMESTIC BATTERY

Joanna Rasmussen, 35, of Glenview, is accused of domestic battery, possession of a controlled substance, and was arrested at 9:38 a.m. Dec. 28. She was held for a bond hearing on Dec. 30.

VIOLATION OF AN ORDER FOR PROTECTION

Jason Braganza, 44, of the 900 block of Long Road, Glenview, is accused of violation of an order of protection, and was arrested at 12:20 p.m. Dec 29. He was held for a bond hearing on Dec. 30.

LEAVING THE SCENE OF A VEHICLE DAMAGE CRASH

Cary Cohen, 34, of the 3800 block of Michael Lane, Glenview, is accused of leaving the scene of a vehicle damage crash, driving with a revoked driver's license, and was arrested at 4:07 p.m. Jan. 2, following the investigation of a traffic crash in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road. He was released on an I-bond with a court date set for Jan. 19.

INCIDENTS

FORGERY

A resident in the 1300 block of Woodlawn Avenue reported at 10:26 a.m. Dec. 29, a check she mailed through the United States Postal Service had been stolen, the payee’s name was changed, and then cashed.

POSSESSION OF CANNABIS

  • A Chicago resident was cited at 10:42 a.m. Dec. 29, for unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver, failure to wear a seat belt, after a traffic stop in the 3200 block of Central Road. The driver was released with an I-bond and a court date of Jan. 24 was assigned.
  • A Skokie resident was cited under village ordinance at 2:58 a.m. Jan. 1, for possession of cannabis in the 0-100 block of Glenview Road.

BURGLARY

The Glenview Fire Department responded to an unoccupied building at 6:58 p.m. Dec. 29, for an activated fire alarm in the 1900 block of East Lake Avenue. They discovered an unknown person had discharged fire extinguishers, which caused the fire alarm to activate.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

A resident in the 0-100 block of Glenview Road called police at 3:49 p.m. Dec. 30, to report someone forced entry into the residence. Jewelry and money were reported stolen.

DECEPTIVE PRACTICE

A Sleepy Hollow Road resident reported at 9:27 p.m. Dec. 30, being scammed by an unknown individual through a social media platform.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS

An employee of a business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 3:39 a.m. Dec. 28, to report two trucks had their catalytic converters stolen. Total reported loss is $2,400.

SPEEDING

  • A Glenview resident was cited at 8:58 a.m. Dec. 31, for speeding (35+mph over the speed limit) in the 4300 block of West Lake Avenue. They were released on bond with a court date of Feb. 10 assigned.
  • A resident was cited for speeding (26+ mph over the speed limit) at 10:30 p.m. Jan. 3 in the 2700 block of Willow Road. They were released on an I-bond and assigned a court date of Jan. 19.

IDENTITY THEFT

A Covert Road resident reported at 12:53 p.m Dec. 31, someone attempted to open a Wells Fargo account using their personal information.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

  • A resident in the 3800 block of Chester Drive called police Dec. 31 to report that between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., someone rummaged through two unlocked vehicles parked in their driveway. Several personal belongings were taken from the cars.
  • A resident in the 500 block of Elm Street reported that between Dec. 28 and Jan. 3 a laptop computer was stolen from their unlocked vehicle.

UNWANTED SUBJECT

  • An employee of a hotel in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 3:50 a.m. Jan. 1, a customer attempted to rent a room during the computer’s night audit and to return in an hour. The customer refused to leave. Officers gave the customer trespass notice at the request of the employee, and they left the scene.
  • An employee of a business in the 2600 block of Navy Boulevard called police at 3:21 p.m. Jan. 3, to report an angry customer in the store. Officers spoke with the customer, who then left the business.

TRESPASSING

A resident was given trespass warnings to both Glenview Metra train stations at 1:07 a.m. Jan. 4, following an investigation.
