District 30 Elementary Schools Need More Space
Renovation projects could be in the future for Willowbrook and Westcott elementary schools.

GLENVIEW, IL - Two Glenview/Northbrook School District 30 schools are in need of more space.
Both Willowbrook and Westcott elementary schools are running low on space as enrollment increases in the district, superintendent Brian Wegley said during a recent school board meeting covered by the Daily North Shore.
“We added two new classes at Willowbrook and Wescott will need one to two more next year,” Wegley said. “We’re simply out of space.”

An architectural firm and educational consultant will study the current state of the buildings before a steering community of school and community members devise a plan on how to move forward with the two elementary schools.
The district’s other school, Maple Middle School in Northbrook, could use a renovation and possibly a rebuilding project, Wegley said.

It’s too early to tell if either of the potential projects would need a referendum to pass. According to Wegley, the district is not in any debt and has somewhere between $13 million and $15 million to spend on capital projects.
