Dog Feces Smeared On Home; White Residue Found On Scale: Blotter

Incidents and arrests from the Glenview Police Department blotter from Nov. 21 to Nov. 27.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS

THEFT
A construction worker in the 1400 block of Hawthorne Lane reported a concrete saw was stolen from a work site for a reported loss of $1,000.

IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 2400 block of Greenwood Road reported getting a call from someone purporting to be an employee of Social Security who threatened the resident with arrest if a payment was not made. The reported loss was more than $2,000.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A resident in the 2400 block of Waukegan Road reported around 2:15 a.m. on Nov. 22 that a neighbor was looking into their windows.

HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 1000 block of Crystal Court reported around 8 p.m. on Nov. 22 that someone had gotten into their home through a window in the early evening hours and stole more than $3,000 worth of jewelry from inside.

IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 1600 block of Glenview Road reported around 10 a.m. on Nov. 23 that someone had used their identity to open up a new credit account, which was used to buy a $1,100 iPhone.

DOG FECES
A resident in the 300 block of Lincoln Street reported around 12:45 p.m. on Nov. 23 that someone had someone spread dog feces on the front door of their residence, overhead garage door, and key pad for the garage.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A customer of a business in the 2800 block of Patriot Boulevard reported around 1:50 p.m. on Nov. 23 that someone had scratched their vehicle with a sharp object and damaged the paint, causing $500 in damage.

THEFT
A resident in the 1700 block of Bluestem Lane reported around 2:15 p.m. on Nov. 23 that someone had stolen art worth $600 from their house. The reported loss is $600.00.

HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 1800 block of Aberdeen Drive reported around 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 23 someone had broken into their home after damaging a door and ransacked the interior. Nothing was reported stolen.

HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 1500 Glenview Road reported shortly before 7 p.m. on Nov. 23 that someone had broken into their home after damaging a door and ransacked the interior during the daytime hours. There was nothing reported stolen.

TRAILER BURGLARY
An employee in the 1700 block of Waukegan Road reported around 7:15 p.m. on Nov. 23 that someone had pried open a lock to a parked trailer and stole $200 worth of merchandise from inside..

CRIMINAL TRESPASSING
An employee in the 100 block of Waukegan Road reported around 8 p.m. on Nov. 23 that someone had been in the process of shoplifting alcohol. However, the person left the store without any merchandise after being confronted by store staff.

NOV. 23-24 CAR BURGLARIES

  • A resident in the 3200 block of Sandy Lane reported around 8:15 a.m. on Nov. 24 that someone had entered an unlocked car that had been parked in a driveway during previous overnight hours. A garage door opener and a small container were reported stolen for a loss of $100.
  • A resident in the 1800 block of West Ridgewood Lane reported around 10 a.m. on Nov. 24 someone got into an unlocked car parked in a driveway overnight and stole an iPhone worth $200.
  • A resident in the 1100 block of Pleasant Lane reported around 12:15 p.m. on Nov. 24 that someone entered their unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway during the overnight hours and rummaged through the center console and glove compartment. Nothing was reported stolen.

IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 3600 block of Glenview Road reported around 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 24 that someone had fraudulently used their credit card information to make $1,300 worth of purchases from various retailers.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 800 block of Rolling Pass Road reported around 3 p.m. on Nov. 24 that someone had scratched their vehicle with a sharp object while parked on the street, causing $500.

COUNTERFEIT ATTEMPT
An employee in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported around 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 25 that someone had tried to use a fraudulent $100 bill to purchase an item.

HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 3100 block of Mapleleaf Drive reported around 9:45 a.m. on Nov. 26 that someone had gotten into their house and stolen jewelry from inside for a loss of $4,000.

THEFT
An employee of a car dealership in the 2000 block of Waukegan Avenue reported around 3 p.m. on Nov. 26 that a license plate belonging to the dealership was lost or stolen for a loss of $100.

HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 2600 block of Chestnut Avenue reported around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 26 that someone had gotten into their apartment and stolen $100 in cash.


ARRESTS

Cynthia Knutson-Gearheart, 24, of the 9100 block of Knight Avenue, Des Plaines, was arrested around 8:45 p.m. on Nov. 21 on an outstanding arrest warrant issued by Lake County in connection with a charge of possession of a controlled substance after officers investigated an occupied vehicle in which she was a passenger. Police encountered the car in the 3800 block of Michael Lane and made a traffic stop in the area of Pfingsten Road and Brett Lane. During a search of the car, officers discovered a portable scale containing a white powder residue, and Knutson-Gearheart admitted it belonged to her.

Josie Haritos, 44, of the 1600 block of Greenwood Road, Glenview, was arrested around 12:51 a.m. on Nov. 22 and charged her with felony driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated by prior convictions and misdemeanor DUI after police pulled her over for traffic violations in the 1800 block of Wagner Road. She was also issued citations for improper lane uage and improper left turn.

Jovana Mendenhall, 22, of the 1400 block of South 10th Avenue, Maywood, was arrested around 8:45 p.m. on Nov. 23 on an outstanding warrant from the Aurora Police Department in connection with a charge of retail theft. She was also issued a citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle following investigation into a traffic crash at East Lake Avenue and Patriot Boulevard.
