Over $30,000 In Wheels, Tires Stolen From Car Dealership: Blotter

Woman charged with harassment following threat, crash investigations lead to arrests on the Glenview police blotter from Nov. 14 to Nov. 20.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by Glenview police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.

INCIDENTS

CAR BURGLARIES

  • Someone stole cash and a briefcase containing documents from an unlocked car parked in the 600 block of Raleigh Road between 5:15 p.m. on Nov. 12 and 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 13 for a reported loss of $220.
  • A backpack, sunglasses and a briefcase with documents was reported stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 500 block of Glenview Road between 1 p.m. on Nov. 12 and 7 a.m. on Nov. 13.
  • Someone broke into a locked car parked in the 1000 block of Glenwood Lane between Nov. 7 and Nov. 13, stealing a stereo unit and an owner's manual for a reported loss of $130.

THEFT
A shopper at a store in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported around 9:45 a.m. on Nov. 13 that someone had stolen their wallet containing credit cards, documents and cash from inside a shopping cart for a reported loss of $120.

DELIVERY THEFT
A resident in the 700 block of Waukegan Road reported around 11:45 a.m. on Nov. 13 that someone had stolen an e-reader device that had been delivered to the lobby of their residence. The cover for the device was found on the floor, but the packaging and the e-reader itself were missing for a reported loss of $130.

BURGLARY/CREDIT CARD FRAUD
A patron of a business in the 3800 block of Willow Road reported around 1 p.m. on Nov. 13 that someone had stolen their keys and a glove from a locker before going outside and stealing a wallet from the glovebox of a parked car. The customer was soon notified their credit cards had been used at department stores in Skokie and Evanston.

JEWELRY THEFT

  • A resident in the 1700 block of Wildberry Drive reported on the evening of Nov. 13 that someone had stolen more than $3,700 worth of jewelry from a dresser drawer between Oct. 31 and Nov. 10.
  • An employee in the 3700 block of Glenview Road reported around 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 19 that someone had stolen more than $3,000 in jewelry from inside their home.

MAIL-ORDER THEFT
A resident in the 1900 block of Ivy Lane reported a loss of $600 after buying an iPad on an online auction using gift card redemption codes requested by the seller.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
Someone stole wheels and tires from six vehicles parked in a lot of the Bredemann Family car dealers in the 2000 block of Waukegan Road for a loss of more than $30,000, an employee reported around 8 a.m. on Nov. 14.

SHOPLIFTING

  • Two men stole over $1,174 in infant formula from a store in the 2200 block of Willow Road prior to 2:45 p.m. on Nov. 14.
  • Someone stole a six-pack of Natural Ice beer from a store in the 3300 block of Glenview Road, an employee reported around 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 14.
  • Someone used stolen bath towels to hide items they shoplifted from a store in the 2200 block of Willow Road for a reported loss of $230, an employee reported around 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 14.
  • Someone stole $600 worth of alcohol from a business in the 100 block of Waukegan Road, an employee reported around 2:45 p.m. on Nov. 17.

PACKAGE THEFT
A resident of the 1500 block of Huntington Drive reported around 7 p.m. on Nov. 14 that someone had stolen a package containing $180 worth of ammunition that had been delivered to their porch between 5:49 and 6:20 p.m.

HOME BURGLARY
Someone ransacked the interior of a home in the 600 block of Harms Road between 6 and 6:50 p.m. on Nov. 14 after entering through unspecified means. There was no reported loss.

THEFT/CREDIT CARD FRAUD
A Miller Drive resident reported on the afternoon of Nov. 15 that they had discovered their wallet was missing after receiving a notification someone had fraudulently used a credit card. Cash, a driver's license and other credit cards were reported missing for a loss of $900.

HOME REPAIR FRAUD
A resident in the 900 block of Beaver Lane reported around 11:45 a.m. on Nov. 16 that home repairs for which they had already paid $1,100 were never completed.

TRESPASSING TO BUSINESS
An employee of a business in the 900 block of Harlem Avenue called police around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 16 to report an intoxicated man was shouting and using profanity.

PURSE THEFTS

  • A commuter in the 1000 block of Depot Street reported around 1 p.m. on Nov. 17 that a purse had stolen after it was left behind at the Glenview train station for a reported loss of $250.
  • A shopper at a store in the 100 block of Waukegan Road reported around 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 17 that someone had stolen their purse after it had been left in a cart for a reported loss of $200.

ELECTRONIC HARASSMENT
A resident in the 1600 block of Greenwood Road reported around 7 p.m on Nov. 17 that they had received several threatening phone messages.

TRESPASSING TO GARAGE
A resident in the 2200 block of Strawberry Lane reported around 7:15 p.m. on Nov. 18 that someone had entered their unlocked garage without permission. Nothing was reported stolen.


ARRESTS

Dora Pavlov, 75, of the 800 block of Stradford Circle, Buffalo Grove, was arrested around 10:15 a.m. on Nov. 12 in the 2500 block of East Lake Avenue and charged with leaving the scene of an vehicle damage accident and failure to give aid and information after police investigated a two-car traffic crash that occurred on at 4:16 p.m. on Nov. 8 in the 4000 block of West Lake Avenue. There were no reported injuries and one car was left with a scratched rear quarter panel.

Rebecca Brasfield, 40, of the 7500 block of South Seeley Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 10:15 a.m. on Nov. 14 at the 5th District headquarters of the Chicago Police Department and charged with harassment by electronic communication – threatening injury as the result of an investigation into a report of harassment Nov. 7 in the 900 block of Burton Terrace.

A 38-year-old Glenview woman was arrested around 9:45 a.m. on Nov. 15 following an investigation into a traffic crash in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue. She was charged with no driver's license and ticketed for failing to yield while exiting a private drive.

A 37-year-old Addison man was arrested around 6:15 p.m. on Nov. 15 following an investigation into a traffic crash in the 4300 block of Willow Road and charged with driving with a suspended license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was also issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
