Driver On Drugs Was Below Minimum Speed Limit: Blotter
Staff at Glenbrook Hospital threatened on Thanksgiving; business burglarized; DUI charge after crash investigation: Glenview Blotter

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES
- A business owner in the 2100 block of Johns Drive reported around 12:15 p.m. Nov. 26 that someone had entered the business and stolen $2,800 worth of equipment and car parts.
- Someone got into a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road through a back door that had been left unlocked between 10 and noon on Nov. 29, stealing $800 from an employee's purse before dumping it in the trash about 30 feet from the back door.
PHONE SCAM
A resident in the 1100 block of 11th Street, Northfield, reported on Nov. 26 they had gotten a call from an unidentified person four days earlier claiming that they had "won" a pair of cell phones and smart watches but had to pay a $375 "service fee" to receive them. The resident paid the fee, but the items were not as described when they arrived.

IDENTITY THEFTS
- A Kittyhawk Lane resident reported on the evening of Nov. 26 that someone had used their identity to make fraudulent purchases ranging from $2,000 to $3,000 on their credit card.
- A Washington Street resident reported that someone used their credit card information to make two ATM withdrawals using their identity from a bank in Chicago on Nov. 29 for a loss of $200.
- A Marie Lane resident reported on Dec. 2 that someone had used their identity to open up a credit card account, but there was no loss indicated at the time of the report.
PACKAGE THEFTS

- A resident in the 400 block of Brook Lane reported around 4 p.m. Nov. 27 that someone had stolen a $280 vacuum cleaner ordered online that had been delivered on Oct. 29.
- A resident in the 2500 block of Indian Ridge Drive reported that a package containing a pair of cellphones valued at $1,400 was stolen between the time it was delivered at 6:04 p.m. and when they went to retrieve it at 6:40 p.m.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
Staff at Glenbrook Hospital, 2100 Pfingsten Road, reported around 7 p.m. on Nov. 28 that someone had verbally threatened to batter a security officer. The person was gone by the time officers arrived and the officer was not interested in pressing charges.
CAR BURGLARY/CREDIT CARD FRAUD
A resident in the 1800 block of Aberdeen Drive reported on Nov. 29 that someone had stolen their wallet and garage door opener between 1 and 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 28 from inside an unlocked car parked in the driveway. The resident's stolen credit card was later used to buy gas at an unidentified station and make a $1,000 online purchase.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLES
- Someone smashed the driver's side window of a car parked in a driveway in the 200 block of Wagner Road between 11 p.m. Nov. 28 and 1:30 p.m. Nov. 29, causing an estimated $500 in damage.
- Someone caused $200 in damage to a parked car in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road by scratching around 2 p.m. on Nov. 30.
DAMAGE TO GOVERNMENT PROPERTY
Someone caused $175 in damage to the train station bathroom in the 2300 block of Lehigh Ave. by removing a door handle, throwing brochures from the lobby in to trash cans and scattering cereal in the toilers and on the floor. It was not known when the vandalism took place.
FOUND PROPERTY
- On Nov. 29, a resident turned in a electronic tablet valued at around $1,000 found around 3:30 p.m. Nov. 20 near a sewer at West Lake Avenue and Shermer Road.
- An abandoned bicycle found in an unspecified park was turned in around 3 p.m. Dec. 1 and taken into police custody pending identification of its owner.
CAR BURGLARIES
- Someone stole luggage containing laptops from an unlocked car left parked overnight in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive on Nov. 27-28 for a loss of more than $4,100.
- The owner of a landscaping business reported that someone stole a leaf blower worth $600 from their truck as they worked in the 1800 block of Kendale Avenue between 8 and 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 2.
HOME BURGLARY ATTEMPT?
A resident in the 3700 block of Glenview Road reported shortly after midnight on Dec. 2 that they heard a notice and noticed a light at the front of the home triggered by a motion detector had been activated. The resident later noticed $50 worth of damage to a latch on a front gate that suggested it had been forced open.
SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
Around 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 2, the driver of a gray vehicle followed another car into a parking lot in the 1300 block of Patriot Road before getting out of a car and taking a picture of another car's license plate. The person who had their car's picture taken called police around 8 a.m. the next morning to report the encounter.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS
George G. Harrison, 53, of the 600 block of Forest Avenue, Evanston, was arrested around 9 a.m. Nov. 25 and charged with 20 felony counts related to child pornography in connection with a task force investigation. Read more...
A 23-year-old Glenview woman was arrested around 11:45 p.m. Nov. 25 and charged with misdemeanor speeding 35 mph above the limit following a traffic stop in the 2300 block of East Lake Avenue.
A 41-year-old Whiting, Indiana, man was arrested around 8:45 a.m. Nov. 26 and charged with driving without a valid license following a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road. He was also issued a failure to wear a seat belt ticket.
A 19-year-old Glenview man was issued a citations for possession of cannabis and using a cell phone while driving around 11:30 a.m. Nov. 26 following a traffic stop in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
A 71-year-old Glenview woman was issued a citation for retail theft after switching price tags on $40 worth of clothing from a business in the 1900 block of Tower Road and only paying $19 around 3 p.m. Nov. 26.
Richard Mann, 57, of the 9300 block of Bay Colony Drive, Des Plaines, was arrested around 2 p.m. Nov. 27 and charged with driving under the influence of drugs in the 4100 block of Myrtle Parkway following an investigation into a complaint about his driving. Police also issued him a citation for driving below the minimum speed.
A 32-year-old Chicago man was arrested around 4 p.m. Nov. 27 and charged with driving without a valid license following a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard. He was also issued a failure to wear a seat belt ticket.
An 83-year-old Maywood man was arrested around 9:30 p.m. Nov. 27 and charged with driving with a suspended license following an investigation into a traffic crash in the 2700 block of Willow Road. He was also issued a citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Kolby D. Roberts, 34, of the 7700 block of North Sheridan Road, Chicago, was arrested around 10 p.m. Nov. 27 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater after he was found with more than twice the legal limit of alcohol following a two-crash at the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Sanders Road about a half-hour earlier. There were no injuries reported, and Roberts was also issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
Camar Bennett, 35, of the 200 block of Inwood Drive, Wheeling, was arrested around 10 p.m. Nov. 29 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater following a traffic stop in the 4900 block of West Lake Avenue. He was also issued citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding between 26 and 30 mph over the limit.
Danilo Aparicio-Fernandez, 33, of the 1900 block of Yuma Lane, Mount Prospect, was arrested around 1 a.m. Nov. 30 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater following a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was also issued an improper lane usage citation.
Michael Lamb, 50, of the 4500 block of Forrestville Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 4:30 a.m. Dec. 2 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater and speeding more than 35 mph above the limit following a traffic stop in the 9400 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
