Drunk Drivers Hit House, Rear-End Multiple Motorists: Glenview PD

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity and includes both incidents reported by the public and arrests made by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indicator of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS

CRIMINAL TRESPASSING
A resident in the 300 block of Warren Road reported at 7:49 p.m. on Feb. 6 that someone had entered an unlocked car during previous overnight hours, rummaging through its interrior and scattering the contents of its glove box and center console.

BURGLARY
A resident in the 300 block of Warren Road reported at 7:49 p.m. on Feb. 6 that someone had entered an unlocked car that had been parked in an unlocked garage during the previous overnight hours. The intruders scattered the contents of the glove box and center console around the interiopr of the car but there was no report of anything stolen.

TELEPHONE HARASSMENT
A patron of a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported at 6:48 p.m. that someone had called their cell phone multiple times. They "just whistled" when the call was answered.

TRESPASSING
A resident in the 1300 block of Tinker Way reported at 9:42 a.m. on Feb. 7 that someone was walking around their house looking in the windows during the morning hours.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 1400 block of London Lane reported at 2:19 p.m. on Feb. 7 that someone had done a reported $1,800 in damage to their vehicle while it had been parked in a lot.

DECEPTIVE PRACTICES
Someone cashed a check with insufficient funds for a reported loss of $1,500, an employee in the 1600 block of Waukegan Road reported at 3:18 p.m. on Feb. 8.

THEFT
A resident in the 900 block of Church Street reported at 3:39 p.m. on Feb. 8 that someone had stolen footwear from a storage area for a reported loss of $350.

ELECTRONIC HARASSMENT
A resident in the 2100 block of Ammer Ridge Court reported at 3:40 p.m. on Feb. 9 that they had been receiving unwanted text messages.

RETAIL THEFT
An employee in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported at 1:56 p.m. that someone had removed a purse valued at $150 from a display.

RETAIL THEFT
An employee at the CVS in the 3700 block of Willow Road reported at 1:28 p.m. on Feb. 11 that someone had stolen $2,200 worth of cold and flu and allergy products off the shelf and left the store.

ART, COIN THEFTS
An employee at an antique shop in the 1700 block of Glenview Road reported on Feb. 12 that they had discovered two Dec. 12 thefts from the store while reviewing security footage on Dec. 30. In the first one, someone had taken a coin set worth more than $2,000 from a display and left the store without paying. In the second incident, two men entered the store and distracted the staffer while a woman came in and took a painting and a gold coin, worth a combined $1,600.

ATTEMPTED ILLEGAL DRUG PURCHASE
An employee at the CVS inside a Target the 2200 block of Willow Road reported at 2:11 p.m. on Feb. 12 that someone had presented a fraudulent prescription for 120 tablets of Oxycodone. It was not filled and the person left.

THEFT
A customer in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road reported at 4:21 p.m. on Feb. 12 that someone stole their wallet for a loss of $150.


ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Darniesha Perry, 26, of the 8000 block of South Eberhart Avenue, Chicago was arrested at 3:14 p.m. on Feb. 6 in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue and charged with identity theft after police were told she used the name, a fake driver's license and the social security number of a Morton Grove resident to buy more than $4,000 worth of electronics, forging the victim’s name on a receipt.

Angel Nedev, 27, of the 1800 block of North Wilshire Avenue, Arlington Heights was arrested at 9:25 p.m. on Feb. 6 following a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Waukegan Road and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. In the same incident, the passenger in the car Nedev was driving was also arrested. Blanca Gonzalez, 24, of the 4300 block of Weber Drive, Rolling Meadows was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A 51-year-old Itasca woman was arrested at 8:44 p.m. on Feb. 7 following a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Patriot Boulevard and charged with driving on a revoked driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and no rear registration light.

A 25-year-old Glenview man was arrested at 11:19 p.m. on Feb. 7 following a traffic stop in the 3300 block of Glenview Road and charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license, operating a vehicle with expired registration and no front registration plate.

Mariusz Rzekec, 35, of the 4100 block of Cove Lane, Glenview was arrested at 8:54 p.m. on Feb. 8 and charged with violating an order of protection after he allegedly contacted a protected party through a third person in the block of his residence.

A 23-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 12:36 a.m. on Feb. 9 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

Michael Klemke, 65, of the 2400 block of Swainwood Drive was arrested at 6:27 p.m. on Feb. 9 and charged with driving under the influence and improper overtaking on the right after leaving the roadway and striking a house in the 2300 block of Swainwood Drive.

He did minor damage to the front of the house after skidding over a snowy lawn, police reports indicate.

Melissa Rublacaba, 29, of the 3300 block of West Belmont Avenue, Chicago was arrested at 7:48 p.m. on Feb. 9 at Abt Electronics in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue and charged with identity theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said she had tried to use someone else's identification to make a purchase.

Theodore Hartley, 49, of the 1200 block of Oakwood Lane, Glenview was arrested at 2:02 p.m. on Feb. 10 at the Mariano's in the 100 block of Waukegan Road and charged with retail theft, criminal trespass to property, battery and resisting arrest. Police said he was caught stealing steaks from the grocery store. After police wrote him a ticket, he refused to leave, acting unruly and intoxicated, according to police reports. He resisted the efforts of police to remove him from the store and was charged with several misdemeanors as a result.

Sile Gorman, 51, of the 1400 block of Executive Lane, Glenview was arrested at 7:10 p.m. on Feb. 10 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a vehicle damage accident and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after a crash investigation in the 2800 block of West Lake Avenue. Police said she first rear-ended a driver in the 2900 block of West Lake Avenue before fleeing the scene.

Then, about a mile away, she got into another traffic crash near the intersection of East Lake Avenue and Patriot Boulevard and was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI, according to police reports.

Santosh Singhi, 70, of the 4300 block of Hammersmith Lane, Glenview was arrested at 4:53 p.m. on Feb. 11 and charged with retail theft at Von Maur at The Glen when a store employee noticed she allegedly stole earrings and purses from the shelf. $371 of merchandise was recovered.
