GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
CHARITY DISPUTE
A Salvation Army worker was asked to leave the Walgreens at 1403 Waukegan Road around 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 24 following an argument with a customer that culminated in the charity worker entering a store and yelling at a customer.
CHECK SCAM
An Elm Street resident reported around 3 p.m. Dec. 24 that they had put an ad on the website Craiglist to sell $400 worth of furniture online. Someone contacted the resident about the items, sent a bogus cashier's check for $1,750 and convinced the resident to send a $1,350 "overage" back. The scammer got the resident to send another $300 after the deal fell through before it was revealed on Dec. 24 that the check bounced and the resident had lost $1,650.

FOUND BACKPACK
Around 11 a.m. on Dec. 25, a backpack was found on a bench in the 1100 block of Depot Street. It contained various items of clothing and toiletries, which police are holding for safekeeping until the owner can be identified.

BANNED FROM BURGER KING
An employee at the Burger King, 1834 Waukegan Road, told police around 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 26 that a customer who had previously caused a disturbance was in the restaurant, and they did not want the customer there or to return. After speaking with officers, the customer left.
DONATION THEFT
Staff at the Goodwill Store, 2740 Old Willow Road, reported around 2:30 p.m. Dec. 26 that two unidentified thieves drove up to the donation box outside the store and stole 10 bags of donations. It was not known what was inside, but staff estimated its value at about $300.
CART THEFT
A resident in the 300 block of Independence Avenue reported at 4:23 a.m. Dec. 27 that someone rang their doorbell. The resident opened their door to find a golf cart recently taken from the basement of a local golf club had been left on their front lawn. The golf cart was returned to the club undamaged.
UNWANTED GUESTS
A manager at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Chicago North Shore Suites, 1400 Milwaukee Ave., reported getting three noise complaints about four intoxicated hotel guests who refused to leave after being told about the hotel's policy. Police arrived and the four guests departed.
CREDIT CARD FRAUD
A Wheeling resident reported on the morning of Dec. 28 that they had gotten an alert from their bank that someone had tried to buy more than $900 in merchandise from a store. The card was last seen at a business in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
SUSPICIOUS DUO
The property manager for business at a strip mall at the northwest side of Milwaukee Avenue and Central Road reported finding a suspicious incident on Dec. 28 while reviewing surveillance video. Around 12:51 a.m., a silver colored car pulled into a parking space and two people exited. Both were wearing dark clothes and masks. They left the area at 1:06 a.m.
HIT-AND-RUN
An unidentified car crashed into a decorative concrete pillar and stop sign at the northwest corner of Glenview and Pfingsten roads and fled prior to 11 p.m. Dec. 28. It caused $500 in damage, but no vehicle parts or other identifying evidence was left behind.
STOLEN BOOZE
A manager at the Jewel-Osco at 2502 Waukan Road reported around 8 p.m. that someone had stolen an unknown quantity of alcohol from the store and run out to his car.
NOT SERVED
A resident in the 4100 block of Hampton Court reported that a process server had been in the bushes along the side of a house around noon on Dec. 15 banging on its windows for 40 minutes.
UN-NEIGHBORLY CONDUCT
A resident in the 300 block of Ferndale Road reported that a neighbor drove by their home, rolled down a car window and began yelling at them around 11:30 p.m. Dec. 29.
VEHICLE DAMAGED
A resident in the 900 block of Lenox Lane reported someone tried to pry a rear logo off their vehicle while parked in a driveway between 5 p.m. Dec. 28 and 9 a.m. Dec. 29, causing $150 in damage.
SIGNS DAMAGED
The owner of a towing service reported around 6:45 p.m. Dec. 29 that someone had caused $75 worth of damage to three towing signs at an apartment complex in the 3200 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
CARETAKER BATTERED
A caretaker at a group home in the 300 block of Nordica Avenue reported around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 29 that they had been battered by one of the residents.
TRESPASSING
An employee of CVS Caremark, 2211 Sander Road, reported around 11:15 a.m. that a woman or girl who had been on the business' property left after she was told to and before officers arrived. Police contacted her and gave her a warning she could be charged with trespassing if she returned.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Winnetka Road resident reported around 4:15 p.m. on Dec. 30 that someone had used theri personal information to open a store credit card and make a purchase for more than $8,700.
EVICTION DISPUTE
A real estate subcontractor reported around 5 p.m. Dec. 31 that a stove, washer and dryer were missing from a home in the 3000 block of Lexington Lane. A former resident, who had been evicted in mid-December, told police they took the appliances because they owned them.
GROCERY STORE THEFTS
- An Arlington Heights resident shopping at the Mariano's, 2323 Capital Drive, reported shortly before noon on Dec. 23 that someone had stolen their wallet, or they had lost it, in the early evening of Dec. 19. A search of the inside and outside of the store did not locate wallet, which was valued at $71.
- A Glenview resident reported around 9 a.m. pm Dec. 26 that they had left their wallet worth $750 in a shopping car at the Mariano's, 25 Waukegan Road.
CAR BURGLARIES
- Someone smashed the front passenger side window of a car parked in a driveway on the 4000 block of Tracey Court between 12:30 a.m. and 8:22 a.m. on Dec. 26 and stole a radar detector from inside for a total loss of $800.
- Someone stole a laptop worth $500 from the front passenger seat of an unlocked car parked in the 4100 block of Cove Lane prior to 3:32 p.m. on Dec. 26.
PACKAGE THEFTS
- Someone stole the contents of a package delivered to a home in the 900 block of Elm Street between 7 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 16. The lost items were valued at $75, a resident reported on Dec. 27.
- A resident in the 2000 block of Prairie Street reported on Dec. 27 that someone stole a package worth $275 that had been delivered on Dec. 16.
- Someone stole a package valued at $100 from a home in the 2000 block of Prairie Street on Dec. 16, a resident reported on Dec. 28.
HOLIDAY ENFORCEMENT
During the 2019 holiday "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign from Dec. 16 to Jan. 2, Glenview police issued 30 speeding citations, 22 seat belt citations, 12 other traffic citations, two distracted driving citations and made one arrest for impaired driving.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS
An 18-year-old Northfield woman was issued a citation for retail theft around 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 22 after she was seen stealing nearly $100 worth of merchandise between Dec. 15 and Dec. 20 from the Target at 2241 Willow Road..
Dana G. Becker, 67, of the 2800 block of Dundee Road, Northbrook, was arrested at 2:15 p.m. on Dec. 28 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic crash at Milwaukee Avenue and Castilian Court around 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 27. She was also issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid a traffic crash.
Amanda S. Daly, 28, of the 800 block of West Fletcher Street, Chicago, was arrested around 5 p.m. Dec. 23 at the Glenview Police Department and charged with harassment by electronic communication.
Dario Sanchez-Canseco, 37, of the 500 block of 5th Street, Northfield, was arrested around 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 24 and charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Waukegan Road and a subsequent investigation.
