Ex-Coworker Shows Up At Home, Breaks Windows: Glenview Police Blotter
The late Friday night incident occurred in the 800 block of 8th Street, according to police.

Michael Latona, 33, of the 400 block of Buchanan Court, Vernon Hills, is accused of leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and was arrested at 9:39 p.m. Oct. 9, after a traffic crash investigation in the area of the 2900 block of West Lake Avenue. He was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 31.
BATTERY

Scott Terrell, 66, of the 2500 block of Waukegan Road, Glenview, is accused of battery, and was arrested at 4:32 p.m. Oct. 10, in the 1900 block of Glenview Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 31.
FAILURE TO APPEAR
Victor Butts, 51, of the 7500 block of S. Coles Avenue, Chicago, had a warrant out of Cook County for failure to appear on a retail theft charge, and was arrested at 11:14 p.m. Oct. 10, during a trespassing investigation in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard.

INCIDENTS
DISPUTE
A Milwaukee Avenue resident reported at 7:20 a.m. Oct. 8, they had got into a verbal altercation with an employee of a business in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue over wanting a refund. The resident was told to wait for a manager to discuss the incident.
SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
- A citizen reported at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 8, that they believed they were being followed by an unknown vehicle in the 1800 block of Tower Drive. Officers were unable to locate any vehicle.
- Police responded to a business in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue at 9:51 p.m. Oct. 12, where an employee had reported a phone call from an unknown person advising a guest was smoking crystal meth. Officers contacted a male occupant of the room, who denied using drugs.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
- A resident in the 1300 block of Hawthorn Lane called police at 8:55 p.m. Oct. 8, their home and vehicles had several eggs thrown at them. Officers searched the area with negative results.
- A North Dakota resident reported at 12:51 p.m. Oct. 10, someone had smashed the driver side mirror on their vehicle. They suspect it was the male driver of a Tesla, whom they were involved in a road rage incident with prior to parking their vehicle in the 2800 block of Pfingsten Road.
- A resident in the 800 block of 8th Street called police at 11:45 p.m. Oct. 11, to report a former coworker came to the residence and broke two windows.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
- A resident in the 1500 block of Saratoga Lane called police at 4:58 p.m. Oct. 8, to report a male standing near the intersection of Glenview Road and Harlem Avenue, being aggressive and yelling profanities at passersby while holding a sign supporting a Presidential candidate. Responding officers attempted to speak to the male, however he was uncooperative and used profanities at the officers, then complained about officers being paid too much. Officers observed the male for several minutes and did not see any further disorderly behavior.
- A resident in the 500 block of Harms Road reported at 10:47 a.m. Oct. 9, they had seen an unknown male attempting to open the back door to the home. The resident said the male was wearing a black vest, corduroy pants, and a black backpack. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone matching the description.
IDENTITY THEFT
- A Buccaneer Drive resident reported at 12:27 a.m. Oct. 9, someone had applied for unemployment benefits using their information. There is no financial loss at this time, no suspect information, but will sign complaints if an offender is identified.
- An Elm Street resident reported at 6:31 p.m. Oct. 9, someone had opened an account with AT&T using their personal information. The account had multiple phone lines associated with it. There was no financial loss at the time of the report.
- A Waukegan Road resident called police at 3:33 p.m. Oct. 11, to report they had received a notice from Discover that a Verizon account had been opened in the amount of $5,862 that they did not authorize.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON
A Norridge resident called police at 3:01 p.m. Oct. 10, to report a white male standing outside a business in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road staring at them. They requested an Extra Watch on the business.
BARKING DOGS
A resident in the 1000 block of Pfingsten Road called police at 10:27 p.m. Oct. 9, to report a neighbor's dogs were outside barking for the past 20 minutes. Officers observed numerous dogs in the backyard of a residence in the 3800 block of Glenview Road. The resident was given a Village ordinance ticket for disturbance by animals.
THEFT
- A resident in the 500 block of Huber Lane called police at 11:01 p.m. Oct. 11, to report someone had stolen their HP laptop, a cell phone charger, a notebook, and a suit supply bag from the front porch of their residence. Estimated loss was $1,120.
- A citizen called police at 4:41 p.m. Oct. 12, to report their bicycle had been stolen, which was left outside while they shopped at a business in the 3300 block of Glenview Road.
- A Glenview Road resident called police at 6:06 p.m. Oct. 13, to report their cellphone being taken while shopping at a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road at 3:30 p.m. They used a checkout lane and had their phone sticking out of their purse. They suspect a woman behind them in line took it. Video surveillance is not conclusive. Total loss of the Blue iPhone 15 is $999.99.
- A resident in the 3200 block of Barbara Drive called police at 1:24 p.m. Oct. 14, to report someone had taken two patio tables from the driveway sometime overnight. Estimated loss is $150.
- A resident in the 2000 block of Balmoral Avenue called police at 2:19 p.m. Oct. 14, to report two males had stolen a Harris/Walz political sign from the front yard. The pair were driving a dark-colored pickup truck and were described as early 20s, thin build, 160 to 190 pounds.
THREAT
Police responded to the 1700 block of Milwaukee Avenue at 5:54 p.m. Oct. 11, for a person reporting being threatened by a patient. The patient left the location prior to police arrival. When contacted by the police, the patient admitted to the statement they made. They were given a trespass notice.
AGGRAVATED BATTERY
A citizen called police at 7:40 a.m. Oct. 11, to report a person in the 3900 block of Glenview Road had spat on them and struck their vehicle with a handheld stop sign after a verbal altercation. The person denied the accusation and reported the victim was the aggressor. A witness and the surveillance footage of the incident confirmed the victim's account of the events.
TRESPASS WARNING
Police responded to a business in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue at 9:39 p.m. Oct. 12, where a manager reported customers were arguing about the amount of hot sauce packets they received with their order. The manager refunded the customer’s money for the order and requested they leave the business with a trespass warning.
RETAIL THEFT
Employees at a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported at 11:36 a.m. Oct. 13, a male had used the self-checkout, and they did not scan two boxes of diapers and a Stanley water bottle. The male left the store without paying for the items valued at $154.98. They were issued a Village Ordinance citation for theft and were given a trespass warning not to return to the store.
BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE
A resident in the 1100 block of Harms Road reported at 5:05 a.m. Oct. 14, someone had entered their unlocked vehicle at approximately 3 a.m. Their wallet was taken that contained $60 and three credit cards. Their Discover card was used at 4:25 a.m. hours at a business in Chicago.
STOLEN VEHICLE
A resident in the 900 block of Windsor Road called police at 9:49 a.m. Oct. 14, to report someone had stolen their vehicle that had been parked in the driveway with the key fob inside. Neighbor’s video shows the vehicle leaving at 3:21 a.m.
