Halloween Decorations Damaged Throughout Village: Glenview PD Blotter
Damage at some homes were as high as $400, according to police.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Juarez Rafael Hilerio, 38, of the 200 block of Whipple Tree Road, Wheeling, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 12:05 a.m. Oct. 7, following a traffic investigation in the 3200 block of Central Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 31.
NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE

- Roberto Herrera, 18, of the 3200 block of S. Komensky Avenue, Chicago, is accused of having no valid driver's license, failing to yield at an intersection, and was arrested at 7:31 a.m. Oct. 2, in the 4200 block of West Lake Avenue. He was released and assigned a court date of Nov. 19.
- Rosas Cristian Hernandez, 36, of the 1600 block of Greenwood Road, is accused of having no valid driver's license, disregarding a traffic control signal, and was arrested at 11:14 p.m. Oct. 2, in the 1300 block of Greenwood Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Nov. 19.
DRIVING ON SUSPENDED/REVOKED LICENSE
- Marquis Johnson, 24, of the 1600 block of S. Fairfield Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving on a suspended license, speeding 15-20 mph over the speed limit, and was arrested at 9:01 a.m. Oct. 3, in the 2800 block of Sanders road. He was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 31.
- Isiah Irving, 33, of the 2300 block of Foster Street, Evanston, is accused of driving while license revoked, had a warrant, and was arrested at 6:34 p.m. Oct. 3, following a motorist assist investigation in the 1900 block of Central Road. Irving was held at the Glenview Police Department pending transport to a conditions hearing.

INCIDENTS
DISTURBANCE
An employee of a business in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 1:22 a.m. Oct. 8, two guests were arguing outside of their unit. The employee saw the altercation through the surveillance video and could not provide officers with details of what had occurred. The guests left prior to police arrival. Officers located damage in the unit.
THEFT
- A resident in the 3000 block of Coral Lane, called police at 5:22 p.m. Oct. 7, to report an Amazon package was stolen from the porch area of the residence. The incident was captured on a Ring doorbell camera which showed the suspect with their face covered and wearing all black clothing stealing the package. The suspect fled the area in a white sedan. The estimated loss was $15.
- A resident in the 700 block of Glendale Drive reported at 9:33 a.m. Oct. 7, someone had stolen Halloween decorations from their residence.
DECEPTIVE PRACTICES
A citizen reported at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 7, someone had intercepted their personal check for $41.32, changed it to $5,915.27, and deposited into an unknown bank account, possibly electronically. The person then changed the check number and the amount to $3,450.40 and deposited it again. The victim's bank stopped the payment on the check and the victim suffered no loss.
IDENTITY THEFT
- A citizen called police at 1:01 p.m. Oct. 7, to report someone had used their personal information to open a Verizon account. They learned of the incident after receiving a letter from Verizon demanding a payment of $4,749.98.
- A Harlem Avenue resident reported at 8:56 a.m. Oct. 1, someone had called them about "fradulent charges" on their Fifth Third bank account. They gave the person all their information, including their bank account number. Police said there was no loss at the time of the report.
- A Winnetka Road resident called police at 11:58 a.m. Oct. 1, to report someone had taken out a Paycheck Protection Program loan in their name from the Small Business Administration. The SBA was unable to give them any other information in regard to the loan amount or suspect information.
- A Terrace Lane resident called police at 7:41 p.m. Oct. 1, to report someone had opened up a Golden Sacs Mastercard using their information on Sept. 24. There was no loss at the time of the report, according to police.
- A West Lake Avenue3 resident reported at 5:28 p.m. Oct. 2, receiving a bank statement from US Bank showing an account opened under the company's name, which they did not authorize. The bank advised their social security number was used to open the account.
CRIMINAL TRESPASSING
An employee of a business in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive called police at 7:28 p.m. Sept. 30, to report a former tenant was trespassing on the property after being evicted. Officers made contact with them inside their former apartment. They agreed to leave after gathering some belongings. They were released and given a court date of Oct. 31.
BURGLARY TO VEHICLE
A Hillside resident reported at 4:57 p.m. Oct. 1, someone had entered their vehicle and removed their wallet while it was parked in the 3100 block of Shermer Road. The wallet contained $150 in cash and five credit cards.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
- A resident in the 1800 block of George Court called police at 11:50 p.m. Oct. 2, to report seeing a male run into their front yard from a car and slash their Halloween pumpkin decoration. The white male was described as between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot, wearing a hoodie and shorts, then entered the backseat of a small black four-door sedan that drove westbound from the scene. Estimated damage is $100.
- A resident in the 1400 block of Hollywood Avenue reported at 7:27 a.m. Oct. 3, two people were seen on video at 12:36 a.m. in a dark-colored vehicle. The duo appeared to be male, but had their faces covered. They knocked over Halloween decorations and pulled them out of the lawn, damaging the items, including a 20-foot skeleton.
- A resident of the 1800 block of George Court called police at 8:17 a.m. Oct. 3, to report seeing a male with a face mask, green sweatshirt, brown shorts, and white gym shoes, on video surveillance at 11:47 p.m. running to the front door of the residence and ripping the down a skeleton Halloween decoration. A lawn ghost was also cut. Estimated damage is $80.
- A resident of the 0 block of Washington Street reported that at around 11:45 p.m. Oct. 2, their 13-foot Halloween decoration in the front yard was damaged. Total loss is $400.
- A resident of the 2000 block of Brandon Road called police at 12:31 a.m. Oct. 3, to report two men had damaged a large skeleton Halloween decoration. The two entered a dark-colored sedan and left the scene. Total loss is $400.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
A resident in the 3200 block of Crestwood Lane reported at 1:37 p.m. Oct. 3, seeing a man in the backyard of a neighbor's residence. They yelled at the man and he ran out of the yard. The resident said he was between 25 and 40 years old, wearing a New York Yankees cap, black gloves, a black face covering, a blue sweatshirt and black backpack.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
- At 1:08 a.m. Oct. 4, police saw a black Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk traveling at a high rate of speed through the parking lot of a business in the 2800 block of Patriot Boulevard. The vehicle left eastbound Willow Road and got on I-94. It was occupied by 4 people. A broken window was located on the garage of the business, along with a broken rear window of a gray Jeep Trackhawk.
- A Des Plaines resident reported at 3 p.m. Oct. 5, that at some time over the last couple of weeks, someone had entered their storage unit at a business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue and stole their property. They said the items were houseware and jewelry. Total loss around $10,000.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Employees of a business in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 9:22 a.m. Oct. 4, someone had threatened to kill them after a verbal argument. The person was trespassed from the store.
THREAT
A 7th Street resident reported at 7:28 p.m. Oct. 4, they had been threatened by a female over a conversation on the phone regarding hooking up with an ex-coworker. Officers were unable to contact them.
FIRE INVESTIGATION
A citizen reported at 11:50 p.m. Oct. 4, a wooden bench was on fire at a business in the 3400 block of Milwaukee Avenue. There was damage to a building window and brick wall. Police were unable to determine how the fire started.
BICYCLE THEFT
A citizen reported at 4:27 p.m. Oct. 5, someone had stolen their unlocked bicycle from the 1900 block of Glenview Road. Total loss around $1,100.
BATTERY
A Schaumburg resident reported at 9:28 p.m. Oct. 5, they had been punched in the face after a verbal argument about trucks, by someone in the 2600 block of Aviator Lane.
HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION
A Chicago resident reported at 9:20 p.m. Oct. 6, someone had called them from a blocked number and threatened to kill them. They suspect it is related to an incident in Chicago where they were beaten up by four unknown men.
