Fake IRS Agent Threatens Arrest: Glenview Crime Reports

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity and includes both incidents reported by the public and arrests made by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indicator of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS

FRAUD
A resident in the 1200 block of Pam Anne Drive reported at 7:48 p.m. on Feb. 13 that they had received a call from a man claiming to be from the Internal Revenue Service. The man asked for money in exchange for not being arrested for back taxes. The reported loss was $200.

FRAUD
A resident in the 4100 block of Miller Drive reported at 2:40 p.m. on Feb. 14 that someone accepted a down payment of more than $5,000 for remodeling work but failed to ever start the work.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A motorist in the 1400 block of Meadow Lane reported at 10:38 p.m. on Feb. 15 that someone struck their vehicle with snowballs. There was no damage or reported loss.

BURGLARY
A resident in the 2000 block of Tower Drive reported at 11:29 a.m. on Feb. 16 that someone entered their unlocked vehicle in the garage during the overnight hours but did not take anything.

THEFT
An employee in the 1400 block of Greenwood Avenue reported at 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 16 that someone had gained access to their business account and took more than $3,000 without authorization.

BURGLARY
A resident in the 2000 block of Prairie Street reported at 4:02 p.m. on Feb. 16 that someone had gone inside an unlocked vehicle on the driveway in the early afternoon hours and took an unknown quantity of change from inside.

TELEPHONE HARASSMENT
An employee in the 3200 block of Glenview Road reported at 6:18 p.m. on Feb. 16 that someone called the store several times, yelling and using profanity.

BURGLARY
A resident in the 2200 block of Prairie Street reported at 6:27 p.m. on Feb. 16 that someone had entered an unlocked vehicle on the driveway in the early afternoon hours and took a wallet from inside for a reported loss of $70.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A resident in the 1000 block of Rolling Pass reported at 9:46 p.m. on Feb. 16 that someone threw eggs at their house. There was no reported loss.

BURGLARY
A resident of the 2000 block of Prairie Street reported at 4:35 p.m. on Feb. 16 that someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway and took $5 from inside.

DISTURBANCE
An employee in the 500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 10:05 a.m. on Feb. 17 that there was a fight happening in the parking lot.

DISTURBANCE
An employee in the 2600 block of Lehigh Avenue reported at 10:19 p.m. on Feb. 17 that a fight was taking place in a hotel room.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
An employee in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported at 11:55 p.m. on Feb. 17 that a customer had gotten upset and become loud and belligerent.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS
A resident in the 2300 block of Linden Leaf Drive reported at 7:23 p.m. on Feb. 18 that they had seen someone on a neighbor’s property without authorization in the 2300 Linden Leaf Drive.

ELECTRONIC HARASSMENT
A resident in the 1000 block of Castilian Court reported at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 19 that they had been receiving unwanted text messages.


ARRESTS/CITATIONS

A 28-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 8 p.m. on Feb. 12 and charged with driving with a suspended driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and no rear registration light following a traffic stop in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

A 35-year-old Glenview man was arrested at 8:23 p.m. on Feb. 13 and charged with driving with no valid driver's license following a traffic stop in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

John Konstantinov, 40, of the 10400 block of Micheal Todd Terrace, Glenview, was arrested at 12:26 p.m. on Feb. 15 and charged with trespassing in the 100 block of Willow Road.

A 64-year-old Chicago man was arrest at 12:29 a.m. on Feb. 16 and charged with driving without a valid license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage following a traffic stop in the 800 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

Thomas Willis, 67, of the 300 block of East Church Street, Libertyville, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 17 and charged with aggravated battery in the 2100 block of Waukegan Road. Police said the staff of a restaurant called the cops because of how intoxicated a patron had become. While Willis was being removed from the scene he reportedly struck a firefighter.

Meghan Ryan, 47, of the 500 block of Mallard Lane, Deerfield, was arrested at 2:14 p.m. on Feb. 18 and charged with retail theft in the 1900 block of Tower Drive.

Jason Ford, 33, of the 7600 block of Lincoln Avenue, Skokie, was arrested shortly after 10 p.m. on Feb. 18 at the Glenview Police Department on a warrant issued for failing to appear in court in connection with a charge of driving under the influence.
