'Fall In Love With Downtown Glenview' Event To Feature Iceless Skating Rink

GLENVIEW, IL — Local families will have a chance to experience an iceless skating rink and other activities at the "Fall In Love With Downtown Glenview" event on Saturday, Feb. 28. The Glenview Chamber of Commerce is organizing the event in collaboration with the Village of Glenview and Friends of Downtown Glenview.

The free event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at the former Patio Shops public parking lot, located at 1755 Glenview Road. This location will host the special one-day-only iceless skating rink, which is open to the public.

According to the Chamber, the iceless skating rink offers a way for all ages and skill levels to enjoy skating. Attendees will also find various activities designed for families. These include food and beverages available for purchase from local vendors such as Forza Meats and Dip & Sip Donuts. Activities for the kids will feature a curling station and games.

In addition, raffles will offer gift cards from local restaurants and retailers. The Jackman Bear will be present at the event.

While attendance is free, a door donation will benefit the Northfield Township Food Pantry. The event aims to bring the community together and highlight downtown Glenview's restaurant scene during the winter months.

"Glenview Chamber frequently collaborates with the Village and Friends of Downtown Glenview behind the scenes with several community events," said Meghan Kearney, executive director of the Glenview Chamber. "This is truly a team effort to bring a new event to life in Glenview. We all have the same vision to enhance Downtown Glenview by creating opportunities for community engagement through events and programs that not only benefit our businesses but residents as well."
