Man found with 6 fake IDs, woman charged with theft of more than $10,000 on the Glenview police blotter from Nov. 28 to Dec. 11.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS

PACKAGE THEFT
Someone stole three packages of purchases from Nordstrom delivered by the postal service on Nov. 7, Nov. 14 and Nov. 17 to a home in the 600 block of Harlem Avenue.

CAR BURGLARIES

  • Someone stole a laptop and camera worth $400 from inside an unlocked SUV parked in a driveway in the 3100 block of West Lake Avenue between 5:45 and 8 p.m. on Nov. 28.
  • Someone stole a wallet and its contents worth $250 from inside an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 3100 block of Glenway Drive between 8 p.m. on Dec. 5 and 6:45 a.m. on Dec. 6.
  • Two unlocked cars parked in a driveway in the 2400 block of Saranac Court were also burglarized during the overnight hours of Dec. 5 to Dec. 6. A wallet and a pair of sunglasses were reported stolen for a loss of $650.
  • Someone stole cash, electronics and a checkbook from inside an unlocked car parked in a driveway of the 4400 block of Pynsky Road during the overnight hours of Dec. 5 to Dec. 6 for a loss of $190.
  • A resident in the 2800 block of Virginia Lane reported around 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 7 that someone stole sunglasses and a garage door opener worth $200 from inside an unlocked car parked in a driveway between 11 p.m. on Dec. 6 and 8 a.m. on Dec. 7.

ASSAULT
A construction worker at a site in the 3700 block of Timbers Edge Lane reported around 8 a.m. on Dec. 1 that they had been physically threatened by another worker, who denied the allegation. No charges were filed.

SALON TRESPASSING
Police were called to a salon in the 1900 block of Waukegan Road around 2:15 p.m. on Dec. 1 for a report that the owner of a competing salon in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road had entered the business in an attempt to "poach" its employees. The alleged "poacher" denied the allegations and was warned of a trespassing charge were they to return.

THEFT
Staff of a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road called police around 3 p.m. on Dec. 2 to report a customer had begun swearing and yelling over a disagreement regarding their drink order. The customer, described as a middle-aged woman wearing a black coat and black hat, stole $2 in cash from the store's tip cup and left the scene before police arrived.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
The owner of a business in the 2800 block of Pfingsten Road reported on Dec. 2 that one of a group of three people had caused $10 in damage to the lid of a clear plastic bin in front of the business used for dropping off merchandise. The owner said it was the fourth time such an incident had occurred.

RETAIL THEFT
Staff of a business in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported around 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 3 that a woman had just stolen five pieces of clothing worth $320. After she left the fitting room, none of the items were found. Staff suspected her blue tote bag had been lined in a way to hide the clothes and block detection from anti-theft devices.

THEFT
An employee of a business in the 2300 block of Sanders Road reported around 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 4 that someone had made an unauthorized withdrawal of $4,000 from a business bank account.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A motorist in the 3800 block of Willow Road reported around 8 a.m. on Dec. 5 that another motorist threw something at their car, causing a dent in a rear door and an unknown amount of damage.

THEFT
A resident reported around 1 p.m. on Dec. 5 that someone stole an iPad worth $400 from a home in the 2200 block of Central Road.

TRESPASSING
A resident in the 700 block of Wagner Road reported shortly after midnight on Dec. 6 that someone was on their property without permission.

WALLET THEFTS

  • A shopper at a business in the 100 block of Waukegan Road reported that someone stole their wallet between 12:30 and 4 p.m. on Dec. 6 for a loss of $115.
  • A shopper in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported around 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 7 they discovered their wallet was missing while shopping for a loss of $90.

STOLEN CAR
A resident reported that someone stole an unlocked white Cadillac that had been parked in front of a home in the the 2400 block of Fontana Drive with the key left inside between 10 p.m. on Dec. 6 and 9 a.m. on Dec. 7 for a reported loss of $3,000.

RETAIL THEFT
An employee of a store in the 1900 block of Tower Road reported around 1 p.m. on Dec. 7 that two female shoplifters stole 47 pairs of Nike brand sweatshirts and sweatpants worth $2,200 from the racks and fled the store.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 2400 block of Waukegan Road reported around 10:45 p.m. on Dec. 7 that someone had caused $400 in damage to a window by firing a suspected BB gun into it.

DEFACEMENT
A resident in the 2200 block of Strawberry Lane reported around 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 8 that someone had used black spray paint to vandalize their garage door, as well as the brick and windows of the home, and cause $1,700 in damage.

IDENTITY THEFT
A Wildberry Drive resident reported around 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 8 that someone had fraudulently charged $9,900 in merchandise to a credit account.

DEFACEMENT
An employee in the 3100 block of Glenview Road reported around 1:15 p.m. on Dec. 10 that someone had used silver colored ink to vandalize a stop sign, business sign and a U.S. Postal Service drop box.

TELEPHONE HARASSMENT
A resident in the 2400 block of Waukegan Road reported around 7 p.m. on Dec. 10 that they had been receiving unwanted telephone calls from an unspecified party.


ARRESTS

Brian Hartfield, 33, of the 1800 block of Monroe Street, Glenview, was arrested around 1:45 p.m. on Nov. 26 and charged with retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia following an investigation into a report of the theft of more than $500 worth of of clothes and drugs from the Mariano's in the first block of Waukegan Road.

Jennifer Wu, 60, of the 7400 block of West Forest Preserve Way, Chicago, was arrested around 2:15 p.m. on Nov. 26 and charged with retail theft following a report of the theft of $105.35 worth of of jewelry and clothes from the Von Maur in the 1900 block of Tower Drive.

Jane Kelly, 39, of the 2300 block of Maple Avenue, Northbrook, was arrested around 7 p.m. on Nov. 27 and charged with retail theft following a report of the theft an $109.34 worth of electronics and cosmetics from the Target in the 2200 block of Willow Road.

Timothy Flagg, 39, of the 9100 block of South Woodlawn Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 27 and charged with identity theft and six counts of possession of a fictitious or altered driver's license and one count of obstructing identification after police were called to a report of the fraudulent purchase of appliances from Abt Electronics in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

Shirley Edwards, 60, of the 6200 block of South Eberhart Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 9:15 a.m. on Nov. 28 at her home and charged with the theft of more than $10,000 following an investigation into a Nov. 10 incident in the 1700 block of Wildberry Drive.

Johnny Yunes Mejia, 29, of the first block of Stonefield Drive, Glendale Heights, was arrested around 11 a.m. on Nov. 28 in the 2100 block of Euclid Avenue, Rolling Meadows, and charged with deceptive practice following an investigation into an invalid check used in the 200 block of Waukegan Road on March 27.

Rudy Mendez, 66, of the 1800 block of Balmoral Avenue, Glenview, was arrested around 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 29 at his home and charged with violation of an active order of protection after police determined he had texted a person in violation of a court order forbidding such contact.

Sabina Hodzic, 23, of the 5400 block of Sheridan Road, Chicago, was arrested around 11 p.m. on Nov. 30 in the 3300 block of East Lake Ave. and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and ticketed for improper lane usage.

Robert Reimann, 23, of the 700 block of 7th St., Northfield, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 2 in the 700 block of 7th St. and charged with violation of an order of protection.

Elpidio Delrio, 23, of the 300 block of Lincoln Street, Glenview, was arrested around 1:15 a.m. on Dec. 3 in the 3200 block of Roder Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and issued a citation for speeding between 26 and 34 mph above the limit.

Justin Figgers, 31, of the 6100 block of South Elizabeth Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 3 a.m. on Dec. 4 on a warrant for a parole violation issued by the Illinois Department of Corrections after a traffic stop in the 2500 block of East Lake Avenue.

A 59-year-old Glenview man was arrested around 7 p.m. on Dec. 4 in the 4300 block of West Lake Avenue and charged with no valid driver’s license and expired registration.

A 56-year-old Glenview man was arrested around 10 p.m. on Dec. 4 in the 1600 block of Maple Street and charged with no valid driver's license, no valid registration and no insurance.

A 33-year-old Chicago man was arrested around 10:15 p.m. on Dec. 4 in the 900 block of Greenwood Road and charged with driving while license suspended and improper display of registration.

Jisoo Park, 28, of the 8800 block of Golf Road, Niles, was arrested around 12:15 a.m. on Dec. 5 at the intersection of Greenwood Rd. and Harrison St. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and issued a citation for improper lane usage.

Mary Powers, 61, of the 1800 block of Sherman Avenue, Evanston, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 6 in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road on a warrant issued by the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.

Stephanie Hadary, 53, of the 8600 block of North National Avenue, Niles, was arrested around 4 p.m. on Dec. 7 and charged with two counts of retail theft following an investigation into a report of a Nov. 28 theft of $420 worth of items from the Von Maur in the 1900 block of Tower Road.

Monica Curtis, 19, of the 3600 block of Salem Walk, Northbrook, was arrested around 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 7 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more, and cited for improper turn, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle following a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Landwehr Road.

Harjitt Singh, 44, of the 4300 block of West Lake Avenue, Glenview, was arrested around 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 8 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a vehicle damage accident and cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident following an investigation into a two-car crash about an hour earlier at the intersection of West Lake Avenue and Shermer Road. There were no injuries in the crash, which caused more than $1,500 in damage.

Suresh Rao Munagala, 61, of the 800 block of Megan Court, Westmont, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 8 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of .08 or more, and cited for improper lane usage following a traffic stop in the 200 block of Waukegan Road.

A 36-year-old Northfield man was arrested around 1:15 a.m. on Dec. 9 and charged with no valid driver’s license and cited for an obstructed driver’s view following a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Waukegan Road.

Jaime Juarez-Acevedo, 58, of the 300 block of Rustic Drive, Wheeling, was arrested around 1:45 p.m. on Dec. 9 in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue and charged with domestic battery in connection with an investigation into a complaint of an argument inside the Dunkin Donuts at 1750 Milwaukee Ave.

A 20-year-old Glenview man was arrested around 10 p.m. on Dec. 9 and charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle following a traffic stop in the 9700 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
