Fight Breaks Out Between Customers At Biz: Glenview Police Blotter

  • A citizen reported at 2:22 p.m. Jan. 16, finding graffiti on the west noise abatement wall at a park in the 2500 block of Indian Ridge Drive.
  • An employee of a business in the 3700 block of West Lake Avenue called police at 1:55 p.m. Jan. 18, to report someone spray-painted profanity on the sliding glass doors of the building.

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee of a retail business in the 1900 block of Tower Drive called police on Jan. 17 to report on Jan. 11, three unknown suspects entered the store and took various articles of clothing and left the store without paying for the items. The estimated loss is $940.
  • An employee in the of a Waukegan Road business called police at 8:35 a.m. Jan. 19, to report someone stole five bottles of liquor from the store. Estimated loss is $179.95.

  • A Del Ogier Drive resident reported that on Jan. 16, someone attempted to purchase $2,000 worth of merchandise at a retail establishment using their department store credit card.
  • A Greenwood resident called police at 5:45 p.m. Jan. 18, to report someone used their credit card without permission, to make a purchase. Estimated loss is $70.78.

THEFT OF LABOR/SERVICES

A cab driver reported at 4:52 p.m. Jan. 17, picking up a fare in Chicago. The fare ran out of the cab in the 900 block of Leamington without paying for the trip. Estimated loss is $52.50.

TRESPASS WARNING

  • An employee of a business in the 1300 block of Greenwood Road reported at 9:08 a.m. Jan. 18, a male was in the bathroom without permission. The subject was identified and given a trespass warning.
  • A resident in the 1400 block of Tuscany Drive called police at 2:43 p.m. Jan. 18, to report a female suspect was in the residence without permission. The subject was given permission by another family member, and was given a trespass warning.

FORGERY

  • A Valcour Drive resident called police at 10:21 a.m. Jan. 18, to report mailing a check through the U.S. Post Office in Glenview and was later notified the check was later chased in a different name and a different amount. Estimated loss is $3,552.21.
  • A Northfield resident reported at 2:05 p.m. Jan. 20, mailing a check through the U.S. Post Office in Glenview and later being notified the check had been cashed in a different name and for a different amount. Estimated loss is $17,273.83.

THEFT

A Waterview Drive resident reported at 11:31 a.m. Jan. 18, being charged for a service not provided by a roadside service company. Estimated loss is $350.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

The owner of a business in the 1900 block of Lehigh Avenue reported at 6:17 a.m. Jan. 19, someone broke three windows to the business with an unknown object. Estimated damage is $5,000.

BATTERY

An employee of a business in the 1800 block of Prairie Street reported at 11:27 p.m. Jan. 19, an argument between two customers, which led to both pushing each other.

SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE

An Arlington Heights resident is accused of driving while license suspended, having an expired registration, and was cited at 8:33 p.m. Jan. 20, after a traffic stop in the 3500 block of Milwaukee
Ave, Glenview. The subject was street booked and released.

ENDANGERING THE HEALTH OF A CHILD

A resident in the 200 block of Neva Avenue called police at 6:48 a.m. Jan. 20, to report two 13-year-old children were unsupervised. Investigation revealed the parent left the children at home while they went to temple. The Department of Children and Family Services was notified and allowed the children to return home with the parent.

HARASSMENT THROUGH ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION

An employee of a business in the 4700 block of West Lake Avenue called police at 12:26 p.m. Jan. 22, to report receiving harassing text messages from a co-worker's spouse.

BURGLARY TO VEHICLE

A resident in the 900 block of Raleigh Road reported at 7:39 p.m. Jan. 22, someone stole an I-Pad from his unlocked vehicle. Estimated loss is $600
