Shawn E. Schuler, 39, of the 100 block of Chesterton Drive, Volo, is accused of leaving the scene of an accident, no insurance, improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, and was arrested at 6:05 p.m. Jan. 13, after an incident that occurred in the area of Willow Road and Landwehr Road. Schuler was released and was assigned a court date of Feb. 2.

  • Bilguunbayar Enkhbayar, 38, of the 600 block of Quincy Bridge Lane, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed, leaving the scene of a property damage crash, and was arrested at 2:04 a.m. Jan. 11, after the investigation of a traffic crash in the 800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was released with a court date.
  • Michael Cha, 50, of the 900 block of Elmdale Road, Glenview, is accused of DUI alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, uninsured motor vehicle, possession of a concealed carry firearm while intoxicated, and was arrested at 10:28 p.m. Jan. 11, following an investigation into a traffic crash in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road. Cha was released with a court date.

INCIDENTS

FORGERY

  • An Estate Lane resident reported at 9:45 a.m. Jan. 9, a check mailed at the Glenview U.S. Post Office was intercepted in the mail and cashed for a different amount to a different person.
  • An Independence Avenue resident called police on Jan. 12 to report they had mailed a check on Dec. 31 at the Glenview Post Office. Shortly thereafter, they received a notification that the check was cashed to a different name with a different amount.

IDENTITY THEFT

  • A Coral Lane resident called police at 2:44 p.m. Jan. 12, to report someone used their personal identifiers to open a Verizon Wireless account with an outstanding balance due.
  • An Eastwood Lane resident reported at 2:09 p.m. Jan. 13, someone used their Nordstrom credit card to make multiple purchases without their permission.
  • A Castilian Court resident called police at 1:27 p.m. Jan. 13, to report someone used their Visa credit card to purchase Apple gift cards at a business in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

RETAIL THEFT

An employee of a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported at 4:27 p.m. Jan. 13, someone stole items from the store and fled the area in a white minivan.

THEFT

A Wheeling resident reported at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 14, their wallet was stolen from a purse while they shopped at a business in the 1400 block of Pfingsten Road. They received several fraud alerts from their credit cards.
