GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS

AGGRAVATED ROBBERY
A person using the Dunkin' Doughnuts at 1750 Milwaukee Ave.to sell a phone they offered for sale on the internet on the evening of Feb. 11 reported that the purported purchaser had paid with a stack of fake money with a $10 bill on top for a loss of $790. When the seller objected, the buyer pushed the seller, claimed to have a gun and took the phone.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone threw rocks at a car parked in a lot in the 3200 block of Milwaukee Avenue between 7 and 9 p.m. on Feb. 11, shattering a rear window for a reported loss of $500.

GARAGE BURGLARY
A resident in the 1000 block of Golfview Road reported on Feb. 12 that someone had gotten into unlocked cars in their garage and driveway between 11:30 p.m. and 4 a.m. The only property missing at the time of the report was vehicle documentation and various paperwork.

COMPUTER SCAM
An Indigo Lane resident reported on Feb. 13 that they have been scammed into buying $2,000 worth of gift cards and providing the numbers over the phone to someone offering to fix their computer.

VEHICULAR HIJACKING
A customer in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported someone pulled them out of their driver's seat and stole their car from the parking lot around 5 a.m. on Feb. 15. Chicago police found the car intact in the 3900 block of West Lexington Street.

BATTERY/HARASSMENT
A resident in the 400 block of West Lake Avenue reported around noon on Feb. 15 that someone had sent them threatening electronic messages and struck them in the head.

CRIMINAL TRESPASSING
A security system alerted a resident in the 500 block of Warren Road around 11 p.m. on Feb. 15 that someone had gotten into their unlocked car. The burglar fled after the resident yelled at him, and nothing was reported stolen.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Staff at the Steak 'n Shake at 2121 Willow Road reported around 11 a.m .on Feb. 15 that a customer in the drive-thru window had yelled at them, claiming the employee was not being polite enough. The customer then came into the store and continued yelling at the employee.

TELEPHONE HARASSMENT
An employee of BurgerFi, 1735 Milwaukee Ave., reported around noon on Feb. 16 that they had been getting prank calls at all hours of the day from 80 "spoofed" phone numbers.

HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 3400 block of Lawrence Lane reported around 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 16 that someone broke into their home by damaging a back door, went inside and rummaged through its rooms for a reported loss of $1,000.

STOLEN PHONE SOLD
A person using the Starbucks at 3840 Willow Road to complete a purchase of two phones that had been arranged online reported around 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 17 that they were unable to activate the phones. A T-Mobile clerk later informed the purchaser the phones were stolen, leading to a $950 reported loss.

STOLEN CAR
An employee of the Enterprise Rent-A-Car at 2300 Waukegan Road reported on Feb. 17 that no one ever returned a a black 2019 Dodge SUV worth $50,000 since it had been rented in summer 2019.

SHOPLIFTING

  • An employee of the Home Depot at the 2850 Patriot Blvd. reported around 6:45 p.m. on Feb. 13 that someone stole a pair of cordless vacuums worth $600.
  • Staff at an unspecified business in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road reported someone stole nearly $480 worth of dog food around 5:30 p.m.m on Feb. 14.
  • An employee of the Mobile gas station at 1999 Willow Road reported around 3:30 a.m. on Feb. 16 that someone had stolen a pack of cigarettes worth about $11.50 while the clerk was not looking.
  • Four masked male thieves stole $4,700 worth of cellphone and accessories shortly before 5 p.m. on Feb. 16 from the T-Mobile, 1629 Waukegan Road.

FORGERIES

  • An employee at Mullarkey Distributors, 2200 Ridge Road, reported around 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 13 that someone had gotten hold a check that was written to another business, changed the name of the payee and cashed it for a loss of nearly $1,900.
  • A resident in the 2500 block of Indian Ridge Drive reported around 10 a.m. on Feb. 16 that someone had changed the payee and cashed a previously issued personal check for a loss of $1,884.56.
  • An employee of Napleton Hyundai, 1620 Waukegan Road, reported around 5 p.m. on Feb. 17 that someone had falsified a title to complete the purchase of a car. Police reported the vehicle was later recovered.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

A 29-year-old Round Lake Heights woman was arrested around 9 a.m .on Feb. 10 and charged with driving with a suspended driver's license following an investigation into traffic crash in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

Eric Uttecht, 28, of the 6500 block Palma Lane, Morton Grove, was arrested around 11:45 p.m. on Feb. 10 following a traffic stop in the 7100 block of Golf Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater. He was also issued a citation for disobeying a traffic control device.

Rosemary Rains-Gurskas, 44, of the 3200 block of South Paulina Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 2 p.m. on Feb. 12 in the parking lot of Willow Park, 401 Wagner Road, in Northfield, and charged with retail theft following an investigation into a report of two female shoplifters stealing items from Kohl's, 2201 Willow Road. Rains-Gurskas' companion was released without charges.

A 23-year-old Northfield woman was arrested around 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 14 and charged with driving without a valid driver's license following a traffic crash investigation at the intersection of Harlem Avenue and Harrison Street.

Alexander Field, 51, of the 1300 block of Pam Anne Drive, Glenview, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 14 and charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol, resisting a police officer and leaving the scene of an accident after an incident at an unspecified location. He was also issued citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol and failure to yield while turning left. Police reported he struck another car in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue around 10:15 p.m. that night and fled the scene. He was later found in the 3800 block of Gregory Drive, according to police. Police said the DUI charge was aggravated to a felony because Field's license was revoked due to a previous DUI arrest.

Michael G. Velissaris, 32, of the 1600 block of Waukegan Road, Glenview, was arrested around 1:15 p.m. on Feb. 15 in his block of residence and charged with domestic battery following a report of a battery at that location.
