Gas Station in Glenview Accused of Creating 'Snow Barricades'
A Glenview woman says that's just the most "egregious" case of businesses not clearing their paths.
GLENVIEW, IL - The CITGO gas station on Waukegan Road near East Lake Avenue has erected snow barricades, “forcing pedestrians onto Waukegan Road,” according to Laura Pearl, a Glenview resident who voiced her complaint with the Chicago Tribune in a letter to the editor.
That’s just the most egregious case of local businesses refusing to shovel their sidewalks and causing dangers to customers and other pedestrians, she says.
“The negligent actions of these merchants compromise the safety of their customers, as well as other pedestrians. The sidewalks become an uneven terrain of icy blocks.”
