GLENVIEW, IL — High school administrators at Glenbrook District 225 Monday were due to present the annual Illinois State Board of Education report cards to the Board of Education Monday. Both schools in the district were determined to be exemplary, the highest designation available under the department's statewide scoring system.

In 2017, the district's overall operational spending was $23,141 per pupil, compared to an Illinois average of $13,337. The instructional spending per pupil, which includes only activities related to teaching, was $13,730 per student, more than $5,700 above than the state average. The 49 percent of the district budget devoted to instruction was identical to the state average.

The district is on sound financial ground, according to the report card. Its financial capacity is at 160 percent of expectations, with nearly $102 million available and an adequacy target of $63.5 million. The targets are part of a new state funding formula adopted last year. Nearly 94 percent of funding came from local revenue in District 225, compared to 68 percent for the average Illinois school district.
