Glenview Art League's 2016 Youth Art Fair Winners

Nelson Elementary Student, Bernardo Lebron, Wins People's Choice Award

The Glenview Art League hosted its 27th annual Youth Art Fair at William Attea Middle School, 2500 Chestnut, Glenview on February 20th. A total of 292 students, representing 40 schools,
exhibited a variety of art including drawing, painting, sculpture, and photography.

New this year was a People’s Choice Award won by 6th grader, Bernardo Lebron of Nelson Elementary in Niles for his portrait of a Native American woman. Art Teacher, Tina Daskopoulos submitted the work of 29 students. Bernardo Lebron also won first place in his grade. Nelson Elementary had several other winners, including all of the 6th grade awards and 1st place in 5th grsde..

All students received a certificate of participation, yellow ribbons, and a mini sketch pad.
Best of Show winner, Natalie Poklop is a sophomore at Glenbrook North High School, which
had several other winners. A Merit Award for Creative Achievement was presented to Jordan Quant, a senior at Glenbrook North High School for her mixed media wire sculpture.

While many of the students participating attend Glenview schools, groups of students
were entered by their teachers from Once It Clicks, Glenview School of Arts, and Terra Sounds which offer after school art classes.
