Glenview Attorney Suspended For a Year

John A. Franczyk has been suspended by the State Supreme Court "until further order."

John A. Franczyk, a Glenview attorney, was suspended for one year, and “until further order of the Court” by the Illinois State Supreme Court, the Cook County Record reports.

Franczyk was one of ten Chicago-area attorneys to face suspensions during the same announcement in which five disbarments were also made.

The Record did not provide details on Franczyk’s case.

A lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court Northern District of Illinois in 2006 listed Franczyk as a defendant in an alleged “scheme to defraud” the plaintiff, Louis D. Paolino Jr., of shares he held in Mace Security International.

According to one online profile, Franczyk practices in patent application, securities offerings and trademark application areas.
