Glenview Crime: Identity Theft Nets $4000, Car Burglar Snatches $1000, Someone Else Steals $37 Cane

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information is provided by the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity. An arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges are merely accusations. Criminal charges can be dropped or reduced and all defendants are innocent until their guilt is established by a court beyond a reasonable doubt.

NOISE COMPLAINT

Around 5:30 a.m. on March 21, a resident in the 2000 block of Tower Drive reported loud noise from a nearby business.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

At 12:37 p.m. on March 21, a patron in the 2100 block of Sanders Road reported the window of their vehicle was shattered while parked in the lot for a loss of $550.

At 2:09 p.m. on March 21, a resident in the 1600 block of Greenwood Road reported the window of their vehicle was shattered while parked in the resident’s parking lot for a loss of $300.

THEFT

At 3:30 p.m on March 21, a patron in the 2500 block of Chestnut Avenue reported they went inside the business and forgot their cane next to their car. When they returned, the cane was missing. The reported loss is $37.

At 7:25 p.m. on March 21, a resident in the 1100 block of Castilian Court reported they placed electronic equipment for sale on-line and someone purchased the equipment with counterfeit money for a loss of $200.

IDENTITY THEFT

At 11:24 a.m. on March 22, a resident in the 2200 block of Dewes Street reported someone opened up unauthorized credit accounts in their name. There is no reported loss.

SHOPLIFTING

At 9:26 a.m. on March 22, an employee in the 2300 block of Capital Drive reported someone pushed a cart containing foodstuffs out the door without paying for the merchandise for a loss of $350.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

At 2:16 p.m. on March 22, a homeowner in the 2100 block of Robincrest Lane reported a basement window was damaged for an estimated $700 loss.

SHOPLIFTING

At 2:47 p.m. on March 22, an employee in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported a customer left the store without paying for clothing for a reported loss of $138.

At 6:49 p.m. on March 22, an employee in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported someone took merchandise displayed for sale and left the store without paying for it for a reported loss of $95.

IDENTITY THEFT

At 9:35 a.m. on March 24, a resident in the 2200 block of Linneman Street reported someone opened fraudulent accounts using their personal information, costing them a reported loss of $4,000.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

At 10:11 a.m. on March 25, a resident in the 3300 block of Winnetka Road reported someone damaged the front door lock on their residence for a loss of $50.

BURGLARY

At 5:11 p.m. on March 25, a patron in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported their vehicle was entered while parked in the lot and electronic equipment was taken from inside for a reported loss of $250.

At 8:10 p.m. on March 26, a patron in the 3800 block of Willow Road reported he discovered a window of their vehicle was shattered and a wallet and electronic equipment were taken from inside for a loss of $1,000.

IDENTITY THEFT

At 2:08 p.m. on March 27, an employee in the 2900 block of Patriot Boulevard reported someone attempted to purchase merchandise using someone else’s personal information for no reported loss.

THEFT

Shortly after 3 p.m. on March 27, a resident in the 2100 block of Valley Lo Lane reported personal items were taken from inside the house for a loss of $500.

SUSPENDED LICENSE

Shortly before 9 a.m. on March 28, Keith M., 54, of the 2200 block of Strawberry Lane in Glenview, was charged with driving with a suspended/revoked driver’s license and speeding in the 3700 block of Winnetka Road.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

At 7:08 p.m. on March 28, Mervin G., 28 of the 17000 block of Throop Street in Hazel Crest, was arrested in the 2200 block of Waukegan Road and charged with criminal trespass to vehicle and was issued a village ordinance citation for possession of cannabis.

FORGERY

At 7:08 p.m. on March 28, Darjae G., 18, of the 2900 block of Buttonwood Walk in Hazel Crest, was arrested in the 2200 block of Waukegan Road and charged with forgery.

DUI

At 2:17 a.m. on March 25, Jose R., 38, of the 6500 block of South Komensky in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence, aggravated driving under the influence, driving with a revoked driver's license, violating the minimum speed regulation and providing a false name in the 2700 block of Aviator Lane.

SUSPENDED LICENSE

At 10:32 p.m. on March 26, Cesar T., 24, of the 2400 block of Rose Avenue in Palatine, was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, a Kane County traffic warrant and speeding after being pulled over in the 1700 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

DOMESTIC BATTERY

At 10:17 a.m. on March 22, Conrad T., 34, of the 1500 block of Topp Lane in Glenview, was charged with domestic battery in the 1500 block of Topp Lane.

RETAIL THEFT

Shortly before 2 p.m. on March 22, Daniela I., 60, of the 1400 block of East Central Road in Arlington Heights, was charged with retail theft in the 1900 block of Tower Drive.

NO VALID LICENSE

At 10:28 a.m. on March 23, Juan M., 40, of the 1700 block of Greenwood Road in Glenview, was charged with no valid driver’s license after a traffic crash investigation in the 2400 block of East Lake Avenue.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDING

Shortly before 1 p.m. on March 23, Adrian I., 35, of the 3200 block of Ronald Road in Glenview, was charged with speeding (26-34 mph over) in the 3600 block of East Lake Avenue.

DUI

At 5:38 p.m. on March 23, Clemente Q., 49, of the 7600 block of West 61st Place in Summit, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in the 2600 block of Shermer Road.

THEFT

At 8:48 p.m. on March 23, Emerson B., 25, of the 4800 block of North Sawyer Avenue in Chicago was charged with theft in the 2200 block of Willow Road.

SUSPENDED LICENSE

At 11:16 p.m. on March 23, Peter S., 28, of the 3400 block of Henley Street in Glenview, was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked driver’s license in the 700 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
