Glenview Crime: More Than A Dozen Weekend Burglaries

Glenview police reports: March 1-March 7

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department. It is a record of police activity. Criminal charges can be dropped or reduced and all defendants are innocent until their guilt is established in court.

STOLEN VEHICLE

Shortly before 11:00 p.m. on March 5, Kashif Riaz, 38, of the 5500 block of North Campbell Avenue in Chicago, was charged with possession of stolen property after the car he was driving was reported stolen.

BURGLARY

On Feb. 28 at 10:41 a.m., a visitor in the 4600 block of Locust Avenue reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle and took property from inside for a reported loss of $170.

On March 3 at 3:30 p.m., a resident in the 2100 block of Dewes Street reported someone entered an unlocked garage and stole two bicycles for a reported loss of over $1,000.

On March 5 at 1:53 p.m., a resident in the 1000 block of Highland Lane reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle and stole jewelry from inside. The reported loss is $300.

On March 5 at 1:53 p.m., a visitor in the 100 block of Waukegan Road reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle and stole a wallet containing credit cards and cash. The reported loss is $1,000.

On March 5 at 4:07 p.m., a resident in the 3200 block of Knollwood Lane reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle and stole money from inside. The reported loss is $2.

On March 5 at 4:07 p.m., a resident in the 3000 block of Knollwood Lane reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle and stole money from inside. The reported loss is $2.

On March 5 at 4:07 p.m., a resident in the 3100 block of Knollwood Lane reported someone entered their unlocked and stole electronic equipment from inside. The reported loss is $120.

On March 6 at 6:46 a.m., a resident in the 1900 block of Glenview Road reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle and took cash from inside. The reported loss is $100.

On March 6 at 7:06 a.m., a resident in the 1900 block of Prairie Street reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle and took cash. The reported loss is $1.

On March 6 at 8:04 a.m., a resident in the 200 block of Montgomery Lane reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle and stole cash from inside. The reported loss is $200.

On March 6 at 8:57 a.m., a resident in the 3200 block of Knollwood Lane reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle and, although the car was rummaged through, nothing was taken. There is no loss.

On March 6 at 9:03 a.m., a resident in the 1900 block of Larkdale Drive reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle and stole cash from inside. The reported loss is $5.

On March 6 at 9:59 a.m., a resident in the 1900 block of Larkdale Drive reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle and took cash. The reported loss is $5.

On March 6 at 12:37 p.m., a resident in the 3400 block of Vantage Lane reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle and although the car was rummaged through, nothing was taken. There is no loss.

On March 6 at 6:38 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of Montgomery Lane reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle and took cash. The reported loss is $10.

On March 6 at 6:38 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of Montgomery Lane reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle and took cash. The reported loss is $0.35.

RETAIL THEFT

At 3:49 p.m. on March 1, Stephanie Klus, 26, of the 10000 block of North Holly Lane in Des Plaines was charged with shoplifting in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

DUI

On March 2, around 12:15 a.m., Michael Rowe, 53, of the 4600 block of Lilac Avenue in Glenview, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol while going 15-20 mph over the speed limit.

THEFT

On Feb. 28, around 5:00 p.m. a resident in the 700 block of Lincoln Street reported someone opened an envelope in the mailbox and took checks from inside for a reported loss of $600.

On Feb. 28 around 10:00 p.m., an employee in the 1700 block of Waukegan Road reported someone removed decorations from the exterior wall of the business for a loss of $400.

UNWANTED (YELLING) PERSON

On Feb. 28, shortly before 11:00 p.m., an employee in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported someone came into the business and started yelling at the employees.

BATTERY

On March 1, at 7:20 a.m., a worker in the 2100 block of Shermer Road reported another worker threw a lighted cigarette which struck him.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO STATE PROPERTY

On March 1, at 10:20 a.m., an employee in the 2700 block of Sable Drive reported someone damaged the fire alarm pull station for a reported loss of $500.

THEFT OF LABOR

On March 1, shortly before 4:00 p.m., an employee in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported someone used a fraudulent credit card to pay their bill for a loss of $80.

RECKLESS DRIVING

On March 1, at 9:15 p.m., a citizen reported two cars were doing ‘doughnuts’ in the 1900 block of East Lake Avenue.

DISTURBANCE

On March 1, at 9:09 p.m., a motorist in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported someone tried to damage their vehicle window. There is no loss.

TELEPHONE HARASSMENT

On March 2, at 6:14 p.m., a resident in the 1000 block of Castilian Court reported receiving unwanted telephone calls.

IDENTITY THEFT

On March 2, at 6:32 p.m. a resident in the 3100 block of Coral Lane reported someone from out of state accessed their bank account for a reported loss of over $8,000.

DISPUTE

On March 3 at 7:18 p.m., an employee in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported a patron refused to leave after violating rules.

TRESSPASSING

On March 3 at 10:23 p.m., a homeowner in the 4600 block of Larch Avenue reported someone was in their house without permission.

THEFT

On March 4, shortly after 1:00 p.m., a resident in the 3900 block of Gloria Court reported someone stole a package from their porch for a reported loss of $200.

TRESSPASS

On March 4 at 6:14 p.m., a resident in the 4600 block of Larch Avenue reported someone tried to enter a neighbor’s house without permission.

SHOPLIFTING

On March 4, shortly after 10:30 p.m., an employee in the 2800 block of Pfingsten Road reported someone left the store without paying for merchandise. The amount of loss is undetermined.

On March 5 at 1:30 p.m., an employee in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported someone left the store without paying for $150 worth of clothing.

TELEPHONE HARASSMENT

On March 5, shortly before 2:00 p.m., a resident in the 2200 block of Central Road reported receiving unwanted telephone calls.

DISTURBANCE

On March 6 at 9:43 a.m., an employee in the 2800 block of Pfingsten Road reported a customer was causing a disturbance in the store.
