Glenview Man Barricaded Himself In Home, Yelled Racial Slurs After Hitting Woman: Cops
The 35-year-old was arrested and charged with domestic battery.

NORTHFIELD TOWNSHIP, IL — A resident of unincorporated Glenview barricaded himself inside a home and yelled racial slurs and police responding to a report of domestic violence, police said. Sheriff's police were called to the 3900 block of Venice Court around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office.
Andrew Peery, 35, had struck a 43-year-old woman and tried to barricade himself inside the residence when responding officers arrived, police said. Officers went inside and took Peery into custody.
Police said Peery yelled racial slurs at the arresting officers after he was secured. He was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery, according to the sheriff's office. As of Wednesday afternoon, Peery was being held at Cook County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond ahead of an Oct. 16 court date.
