Glenview Man Harasses Doctor, Commits Hate Crime: Police
Police said the 68-year-old sent harassing text messages to his former doctor due to their perceived religion.

GLENVIEW, IL — A 68-year-old Glenview man is accused of committing a hate crime after reportedly harassing his former doctor. Randy A. Silver, 68, of the 3800 block of Chester Drive, was arrested at his home Monday and charged with a hate crime, harassment through electronic communication, and resisting arrest.
The arrest followed a nearly two-week investigation that began on Oct. 30, according to police. The Cook County State's Attorney's Office approved the charges.
Police said Silver committed the hate crime when he sent harassing text messages to his former doctor due to his perceived religion. He also reportedly left a threatening voicemail on the doctor's voicemail.

Silver was released following a conditions hearing on Tuesday at the Skokie Courthouse.
Police believe this to be a targeted isolated incident, with no known threat to the public.
