Glenview Man From Korea Wins $600K in Lottery Instant Game
Young Shin wins $1 million with scratch-off card, but he opts for 1-time payout.

GLENVIEW, IL—A Glenview man originally from Korea is $600,000 richer after winning an Illinois Lottery instant game.
Young Shin, 60, who has lived with his family in Glenview for the past 15 years, was a $1-million winner in the $300,000,000 Cash Spectacular. He opted for the one-time payment of $600,000, though.
After scratching off the winning ticket, Shin drove to his wife's workplace to show her their good fortune.

“I showed her the winning ticket and then we called our son and daughter and they came right over,” Shin stated in a release from the lottery. “It was the longest group hug ever!”
Shin—who bought the ticket at 7-Eleven, 1512 Shermer Road, Northbrook—plans to use the money to pay off his mortgage.
