Glenview Patch Honors High School Graduates: Class Of 2020

This is the 14th installment of our salute to Class of 2020 high school graduates in Glenview.

GLENVIEW, IL — Glenview Patch wants to share the achievements of local high school graduates by putting them in the spotlight over the next few weeks. Due to the coronavirus, in-person instruction has canceled the rest of the 2019-2020 school year in Illinois. We know these wonderful seniors are missing out on some of the last moments of the school year.

We hope that this will give the community a way to share their pride in our Class of 2020 high school graduates. You can find the form here if you'd like to add your graduate. Patch will be updating this form until May 31.

Megan Skovranko, Glenbrook South

Megan played Varsity Badminton at GBS and Volleyball for The Edge Club. She also served as a Key Club Board member for Disability Awareness. Megan is a gifted artist with special talent in painting and photography. She will attend George Mason University.

Reese Laurie, Glenbrook South

Reese was involved with Girls Swim, TLC tutor, Peer Group Leader, Secretary of the Glenview Junior Optimist Club, Peer Mentor, and National Honors Society. She will be attending Illinois State University and studying Special Education.

Message from the family: "Reese, words cannot express how incredibly proud we are of you! You continue to amaze us with all that you do and what you have accomplished in the 4 years at GBS. We know that you will have continued success at ISU and your future will shine bright. We are so excited for your next journey and will always be there to support you and cheer you on. Love Mom, Dad and Gavin."


Emma Almburg, Glenbrook South

Emma was in AP Art, member of National Art Honor Society and was Co-Captain of the Volleyball team that went on to Sectionals. She will attend University of Minnesota to study interior design.

Message from the family: "We are extremely proud of your academic, artistic and athletic accomplishments during your 4 years at South. Emma, this past year has been more than challenging and you’ve kept your heart in it. Can’t wait to see what’s next for you...go get ‘em, Sweet Pea! Love, Mom & Owen."


Tess Tryfonopoulos, Glenbrook South

Tess was involved with Yearbook Sports Editor, French Club Board, Mock Trial Team, TLC Tutor, Glenbrook Scholar, National Honor Society, Illinois State Scholar. She will be attending University of Missouri School of Journalism, Honors College.

Message from the family: "Tess, It's been a joy watching you live life to the fullest with your new ideas, plans, and adventures. We're so proud of you and hope you can continue working hard and creating positive change. Let your spirit be your guide as you discover your true calling. We love you very much and wish you all the best that life has to offer."
