Glenview Police Release 4th Of July Enforcement Numbers

The Glenview Police Department made 63 enforcement actions during the recent Fourth of July holiday weekend.

GLENVIEW, IL — The Glenview Police Department recently announced the results of its Fourth of July "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Click it or Ticket" safety campaigns.

  • 31 speeding citations
  • 16 seatbelt violation citations
  • 3 suspended/revoked driver's license arrests
  • 2 DUI arrests (one being an aggravated DUI with a vehicle seizure)
  • 2 misdemeanor speeding arrests (25+ mph over posted limit)
  • 1 child safety citation
  • 8 other citations

The Glenview Police Department joined forces with more than 200 other state and local law enforcement agencies to get drunken and drugged drivers off local roads and encourage seat belt use, according to a press release. The effort featured high-visibility enforcement combined with a variety of outreach activities, including a media campaign.

The enforcement period was funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Click it or Ticket" programs, according to the release.
