GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

ARRESTS

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

Juan Herrera-Montes, 45, of the 9500 block of Sumac Road, Des Plaines, is accused of having a warrant out of Glenview for an aggravated assault charge, and was arrested at 10 a.m. June 30.

FAILURE TO REGISTER AS SEX OFFENDER

Patrick Kearney, 37, of the 600 block of Long Road, Glenview, is accused of failure to report an address change as a registered sex offender, and was arrested at 11:23 a.m. June 30.

NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE

Julian Alavarez-Marban, 44, of the 1500 block of Pembroke Drive, Elgin, is accused of not having a valid driver's license, operating and uninsured motor vehicle, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and was arrested at 7:14 p.m. June 30 following a crash investigation in the 1900 block of Willow Road.

DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE

  • Daniel Harrison, 23, of the 1600 block of Cabot Lane, Glenview, is accused of driving with a suspended/revoked driver's license, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and was arrested at 8:41 a.m. July 1 in the 1600 block of Cabot Lane. He was released on a $3,000 bond and assigned a court date of Aug. 13.
  • Dong Jin Han, 41, of the 300 block of Oak Trail, Des Plaines, is accused of driving with a suspended/revoked driver's license, and was arrested at 6:01 p.m. July 1 following a traffic stop in the 3900 block of Dearlove Road. He posted a $2,500 bond and was assigned a court date of Aug. 7.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

Constantine Alpogianis, 23, of the 2100 block of the Leland Avenue, Niles, is accused of having warrants for criminal trespass to a vehicle out of Glenview and bond forfeiture out of Rosemont, and was arrested at 11:05 a.m. July 2 at the Glenview Police Department. He was released after posting both bonds ($1,000 for Glenview and $5,000 for Rosemont), and was assigned a court date of Aug. 7 at the Skokie Courthouse.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL

Gene Cottini, of the 1000 block of Harbour Court, Wheeling, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol level above .08, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, possession of a concealed carry firearm while intoxicated, and was arrested at 2:59 p.m. July 2 after a crash investigation in the 4300 block of West Lake Avenue. He posted a $2,500 and was assigned a court date of July 27.

BURGLARY

  • A resident in the 3800 block of Lindenwood Lane reported at 6:01 a.m. June 30 someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway during the overnight hours and searched the interior. There is no loss.
  • A resident in the 3800 block of Lindenwood Lane called police at 5:21 a.m. June 30 to report someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway during the overnight hours and took a checkbook from inside. The reported loss is $2.
  • A resident in the 200 block of Neva Avenue reported at 8:14 a.m. June 30 someone entered two unlocked vehicles parked on the driveway during the overnight hours and searched the interior. A wallet was taken from one of the vehicles. The reported loss is $275.
  • A resident in the 1100 block of Pfingsten Road called police at 8:17 a.m. June 30 to report someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway during the overnight hours and searched the interior. A handgun and diaper bag were stolen from inside. The reported loss is $660.
  • A resident in the 1800 block of Culver Lane reported at 8:31 a.m. June 30 someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway at 3:42 a.m. and searched the interior. Nothing appeared missing. The suspect attempted to enter another vehicle but it was locked. There is no loss.
  • A resident in the 1100 block of Pfingsten Road called police at 9:24 a.m. June 30 to report someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway between 2:20-3 a.m. and searched the interior. A wallet was stolen from inside. The reported loss is $1,050.
  • A resident in the 1800 block of Culver Lane reported at 9:33 a.m. June 30 someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway at 4:06 a.m. and searched the interior. A car jumper pack was stolen from inside. The reported loss is $100.
  • A resident in the 200 block of Montgomery Lane called police at 12:52 p.m. June 30 to report someone entered two unlocked vehicles parked on the driveway at 3:36 a.m. and searched the interior. Nothing appeared to be missing from either vehicle and there is no reported loss.
  • A resident in the 1700 block of George Court reported at 10:20 p.m. June 30 someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway at 9:40 p.m. and searched the interior. There is no loss.
  • A resident in the 700 block of Elmgate Drive called police at 8:26 a.m. July 4 to report someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway and searched the interior. A ring was taken from the center console. The reported loss is $5,000.
  • A resident in the 2400 block of Robincrest Lane reported at 10:15 a.m. July 4 someone entered two unlocked vehicles parked on the driveway during the overnight hours and searched the interior. A charger was taken. The reported loss is $20.

THEFT

  • An East Lake Avenue resident called police at 3:48 p.m. to report selling furniture on Craigslist. The buyer sent a check for the couch and extra money so movers could be paid. After the movers were paid, the check was discovered fraudulent. The reported loss is $1,310.
  • A patron in the 1700 block of Grove Street reported at 4:19 p.m. July 2 someone stole an unattended bicycle from a bridge. The reported loss is $370.
  • A customer of a business in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 4:23 p.m. July 3 to report someone stole a wedding ring and band inadvertently left in the bathroom. The reported loss is $13,000.
  • A resident in the 1600 block of Greenwood Avenue reported at 7:25 p.m. July 6 someone stole an unattended bike. The bike was later returned.

TRESPASS

  • A resident in the 1700 block of Culver Lane called police at 8:41 p.m. June 30 to report someone at 3:39 a.m. attempted to enter two unlocked vehicles parked on the driveway, but the doors were locked. There is no loss.
  • An employee of a business in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 10:21 p.m. July 3 to report guests were yelling and refusing to leave.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

An employee of a business in the 800 block of Waukegan Road reported at 4:39 p.m. July 2 a belligerent customer was in the business.

COMPUTER TAMPERING

A Briarhill Lane resident called police at 9:09 a.m. July 3 to report someone accessed their computer remotely without permission and accessed bank account information.

IDENTITY THEFT

A Waukegan Road resident reported at 3:58 p.m. July 3 receiving a phone call from an individual claiming to be from the Social Security Administration. The subject requested personal and banking information. There is no loss.

ASSAULT

An employee of a business in the 2900 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 4:44 p.m. July 3 to report a customer became aggressive and threatened the employee after being asked to wear a mask.

CURFEW VIOLATION

  • Police discovered a 16-year-old juvenile from Glenview walking near Glenview and Forest roads at 3:21 a.m. July 4. A local ordinance citation was issued and the male was released to a parent.
  • A 16-year-old juvenile from Glenview was located by police on the basketball court at 12:05 a.m. July 6 at Willow Park, 2600 Greenwood Road. The youth was turned over to a parent.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

A resident in the 2500 block of Independence Avenue reported at 4:03 p.m. July 5 someone took boards off their fence. The reported loss is $50.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY

A Niles resident called police at 4:45 p.m. July 5 to report he was meeting a girl from a dating application in the 1700 block of Pebble Creek Drive and was punched in the face by her male friend.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

  • A Buckingham Glen Circle resident reported at 4:32 p.m. July 5 someone posted lies about them on a social media application.
  • A motorist in the 2400 block of East Lake Avenue called police at 5:17 p.m. July 5 to report being confronted by a protester on the sidewalk and later learned their personal information was posted on an Instagram account.

RETAIL THEFT

An employee of a business in the 2300 block of Capital Drive reported at 9:34 p.m. July 5 someone entered the store, put 18 bottles of Tito’s vodka in a bag and left without paying. The reported loss is $731.87.

TELEPHONE HARASSMENT

An employee of a business in the 1700 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 11:04 a.m. July 6 to report someone called the store on several occasions and rerouted the store's telephone number to a pornographic site.
